Palmer at Geneva National Golf Club

About
The Palmer Course is just one of three championship courses at Geneva National Golf Club. The other two boast well known designers as well: Gary Player and Lee Trevino. All of the courses were carved from the lush countryside along the banks of Lake Como, the sprawling club is the second largest golf facility in Wisconsin. The Palmer Course is the most challenging of the three but the Player Course comes in at a close second. There is less water one this course but it still has a prominent presence throughout. The golf course begins with a tricky water hole, a par 3 that is crossed two by a meandering stream. The 17th is also memorable since it plays right along the lake. There are a few homes lining some of the fairways but they do not distract from the stunning scenery throughout the golf course.

Great course, fair challenge
The course was in excellent condition, also really liked the electric carts and the gps in the cart that also shows the slope details of the greens as you approach. The course itself is quite beautiful, not terribly difficult, but it definitely leaves room for you to beat yourself with mistakes. The staff was also very friendly and even gave me a ride back up to my car with the golf cart.
Geneva National Palmer Course
This is a wonderful layout and good condition. The problem is that management allows groups to play events like a mock Ryder Cup on a Sunday with a full tee sheet. Everyone behind these 16 players suffer and it becomes a 5 plus hour round. Why management allows this is beyond me. If they allow it ithey should insist upon a 4 1/2 hour pace of force these groups to skip a hole. They destroy everyone else's experience.
Championship Quality
Course was in pristine condition. Geneva National staff treat you like honored guests. Friendly staff are always looking to help you.
The course layout is beautiful. The course was laid out in the glacial area with rolling elevation changes, mounds , and heavily forested. The course is challenging, the greens are undulating. and the environment is enchanting .
When you have finished playing? You feel rewarded for such a wonderful environment and experience,
Did I say what a great place to play,
Never disappoints
Although the first nine holes were played in a pretty heavy fog, the round was excellent. This course never lets you down and offers a challenging yet fair test of your skills.
No drink service, no drinking water, no on course amenities
I am a resident of Geneva National and play these courses often... a word of caution: Bring water or drinks! Unless your playing on Saturday or Sunday drinks carts only serve the members course. Even worse is all halfway houses are almost always closed. They provide no water on the course whatsoever. The clubhouse is beautiful and the courses are well maintained and challenging. When paying $100 or more for golf I expect to be able to buy water or a beer... even at $10.
Great course
Course was in excellent condition. Greens rolled good and fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers in excellent shape.
Only problem I had with the layout is the number of blind tee shots there is on it but the carts gps system tell you to wait so that is great. Unless you have some a group from another country where English obviously isn’t their first language and maybe didn’t understand how to use the gps and they hit into us several times. Was not happy with that at all and should have called the Marshall on them.
Also, do not book you tee time through the course, use Golfpass and you can get for close to half off the regular course rate.
One hole no refunds
Had to pay for 18 even though knew it was going to get rain in 2 hours. So, with a 9 am tee thought hey get 9 in then lunch while it's raining. Partner and I hit tee shot and finished hole. Cart alarm goes off and says return to clubhouse lightning. Now I get it. There rules are 30 min mandatory before going back out. Sat in clubhouse 2.5 hours with ground still dry with radar lightning miles away. Like I said heavy stuff coming around noon which it did to rain out day. I was sad because would of easily got 9 in but ok. Then, I go to get refund as we only played one hole and though don't I'll get back would only give me rain checks. I offered to trade my 2 rain checks for a polo and they said no. So, guess I'm out 160$ as not from area to play one hole. Sad customer service .... Oh also out $30 reservation fee because that was from golfnow
Palmer Course
Amazing track! All 3 courses are gorgeous, but the Palmer is the most challenging due to the greens. Course was in pristine condition as usual. Can’t wait to play it again
Palmer course
Course was in exceptional condition, pace of play was grueling and definitely made the round much less enjoyable. There is never an excuse to have three foursomes on a par 3
Difficult Greens! Great course!!
Wry well maintained course with super fast greens! Loved the course but little too much for high handicapper like me . I am a boyge golfer. The resturant has amazing service and food!!
Tough greens, great scenic course
Beautiful scenery, very fair tee to greens. Greens definitely the toughest part of the course.
Excellent, more challenging of the three at this resort. Play second time to understand and appreciate it.
