Nice course
Course played well. Was little disappointed with the amount of winter greens in play (7) after calling before I booked to be told there were only 2 in play. Course is undergoing a lot of work, once completed the course will be excellent. For £18.50 it was well worth the 1 hour travel to play it. Would definitely play it again maybe head back through in the summer. Also meet the friendly alligator 15th

The weather was even better than my photo suggests to be fair.
Our group has played this course before , usually once a year and although it is a bit of a drive for us it is worth it. The course was in excellent condition for the time of year.
Enjoyable course
Considering the rain that has fallen over the last few days, the course played excellent. Really enjoyed the round and found a few holes quite challenging. I would love to play this course again.
Very good
Course in good condition,1 hole was getting the green fixed When we played and when that’s done the par 5 is reachable in 2 so you can really go for it, clubhouse food was great and very reasonable. Really enjoyed our round.
Greens Poor
Only one Problem the greens are poor and slow many had bare patches on them with no actual grass .
Hidden gem
Was searching golf now for a different course to play and Thornhill came up have played it before and enjoyed it so decided to play again and wasn’t disappointed. Course was quite so got round in no time great layout and good views. Shame the club house was closed so got food in the village.
As usual staff and course made it an enjoyable day
Improvements to the course really noticeable. Makes it a much more enjoyable experience. Recommend this course to anyone in this area. Welcoming staff as always.
Fist class in great condition. The green keeper's are doing a great job I would highly recommend this course
Worth a visit
Great little club and course with stunning views. Course in gkod condition and greens played well despite being slightly slow.
Excellent value for money and would return.
Beware the 15th !
Great weather, Great course !! The 15th hole on was a scorecard disaster for me. Next time I'll lay up :-)
Pools of water
From hole 1 there was pools of standing water nothing worse than hitting your ball 250 straight down the middle and having fish it out of. 6 " deep pool and get your feet soaked pretty much every hole granted it had rained heavy but other courses we played were much drier in my opinion the course should have been closed and if I paid full green fee would have walked off and asked for my money back greens bumpy and slow and one hole about the16 th was just a mass off unreplaced divots and water logged and so many pitch marks not repaired will not go again even for free !!!!
Thornhill
After playing here I was quite pleased with it , a good wee course , many challenging holes , , only criticism I have is that the 15th & 16th were covered in loads and loads of sand , it was very hard to putt through and the only disappointing aspect of our day out ,
The food was really nice and reasonably priced
All in all good wee place
Great days golf
Played this course with my friend after hearing many good reviews from friends and must say it didn't disappoint. Already planning our next trip down.
