Stunning Moorland Course
Played this course for the first time a few weeks back, the course was immaculate, the greens were incredible and true, lots of variety in terms of holes if I had any type of gripe I would have liked another par 5 and Par 3 as there are lots of par 4s but that aside can’t fault the quality of this track, the Par 3 7th and the 11th hole are my favourites, the staff are very helpful and friendly and there’s a lovely menu selection in the clubhouse after you have finished your round, highly recommend this golf course
Whatever you do ignore the prat that said it is worst inland course!
He either has a grudge or can’t play and blamed the course. More likely the latter, certainly isn’t a golfer who has any appreciation of the work that the maintenance staff do at this beautiful course. Just come off the course and it is looking majestic and playing just as well.
I have played this course numerous times..and it is wonderful. It is a true test of golf - even the Wee course is a £12 gem. The staff are really friendly as are the members.. I have no affiliation to the course but read the idiots review and was truly infuriated as he could put people off and that would be a real shame. Enjoy the course and some spectacular views; take no notice of anonymous numpty! Noel
Enjoyable course
Stopped to play on way from Scotland to Yorkshire. Course was nicely manicured with good greens although a bit wet in places. Shame members didn’t mend pitch marks though as many many on greens! It was slow - over 4 hours for a 2 ball which was a shame as there was space ahead had we been let through! Reasonably easy walking with a few steep bits and easy to follow the route around. Overall enjoyed the course very much and would happily recommend to others. Nice welcome in pro shop and good choice of sandwiches etc in the clubhouse. At £70 I thought it was a bit steep compared with similar courses I’ve played.
Worst inland course in scotland
Went and played lanark today with some fellow visitors and couldn't belive the decline in the conditions. Lanark used to be a fast rolling links looking moorland with whispy tight cut lies and beautiful surroundings. Now the place looks like it's a council run local golf club and lost all its character and all its grass on its putting surfaces. The place looks like it's been vandalised and looks like the members and volunteers are doing the maintenance works. Sad state of affairs for the course that used to be so good. Maybe it's in financial trouble or due to close. Won't be back will seek out other hidden gems
Stunning course!
Heard good things about Lanark and was not disappointed. Even though was set up differently for winter layout if was in fabulous condition considering it's still February, fairways and greens were immaculate very dry and sandy almost like inland links. Highly recommended
Stunning Course
Course in great condition for January top notch always good to play Lanark never been disappointed ..
Outstanding
Played Lanark numerous times, at various times of the year and it is always immaculate. Fairways and greens were superb for the time of year and after a few days of torrential rain.
Lovely
Just happened to be staying in the area with fruends so looked up the club. Was pleased to see it was top 100 in Scotland and it lived up to its billing!
Excellent course
Really enjoyed this course. Very intricate holes. Par 3s were very fun to play and the greens were immaculate. Can’t fault this course at all. Certainly will be back!
Great Day of Golf
Lanark Golf Course is a superb course albeit we were confused on the layout of the 2nd green!! We had to ask another player which way to play as it crossed another fairway and we couldn’t see the 2nd fairway. After that it was plain sailing and the weather was nice and sunny. I would highly recommend Lanark Golf club. An excellent course and a great days golf had by our 3 ball
Disgraceful Pace Of Play
3 hours 10 minutes to play the front nine . All because they squeezed in a golf outing last minute . Absolute disgrace . Played one more hole and walked off ..
Gem
Course was in immaculate condition, greens very true, firm and fast. Lots of character holes, some good ball striking with finding fairways & good course managment needed to score well. Beautiful course, would most definitely play there again in a heartbeat. Great value for money. .
Spectacular!
Immaculate, challenging and holes that really test your game and uses virtually every club in the bag.
The greens are incredible.. the holes undulating masterpieces of imagination. Definitely worth playing at least twice! As has been said many times this is wonderful inland almost links course and when the wind blows a real test of your shot ability! Play it and enjoy! Noel
Poor
Professional shop staff were really not interested in helping visitors.
Found them a bit rude. There was no offer of course lay out knowledge no asking if we had played the course or visited before.
No directions to the locker rooms or the lounge.
It was j7st take the money with a comment "sitck to your time"
It was clear that there was no interest in having visitors. It was as if we were an inconvenience.
Lovely Lanark
I was paired up with another golfer, Noel from Swindon. Thoroughly enjoyed his company- we talked the whole way round
