Shotts Golf Club

Played 27th of May.

Overall course wasn't worth £25, even in today's inflated prices. Layout was interesting but the course condtion and lack of any facilities were a big let down. Fairway was smoother than the majority of greens and the fees should reflect this.

Worst greebs I've played in a long time to the point of unplayable. Tee boxes were not great. Practice nets hanging down and not usable. Shop and club shut, no access to toilets or any course cards

Greens were really poor. Seemed to be very patchy as if affected by some disease problems. Rest of course seemed pretty good helped by the weather, except 16th as if a hole in a field!

The course has a great layout and the pro is friendly. Maybe a little harsh but the course is taking a hit from the recent good weather, maybe more than other courses in the area. But the greens are awful.

We paid £50 for two of us and to be honest if we had known we wouldn't have played. Honestly probably not even helping having people on them either.

Also the 8th green and 9th tee are a car park at clubhouse. While walking onto 8th Green people came out car park and skipped on infront of us, then proceed to hold us up all the way in. I'd suggest the club remind members of the correct etiquette for skipping on.

Don't like leaving a bad review but certainly not good value, I'd avoid to help greens maybe recover.

Club house was shut mid day, staff were rude and unhelpful on phone call prior to the round, greens were in terrible condition.

Really warm welcome from professional in the shop but he highlighted immediately issues with the course condition and specifically that all greens were badly affected with fusarium. I hadn't fully appreciated the extent of this eventful though he had stressed it a few times but it made the greens virtually unplayable. I was offered a voucher for a round at a later date but given the conditions fear it could be a significant time before the greens are back in decent shape. A shame as I really enjoy the layout at shotts

I know the weather through the winter was brutal but the season starts tomorrow and if i was a member here i would be demanding a refund. Course layout is good and i’ve played it before without issues but the greens are horrendous just now!! like they are unplayable….. Its defo needs sorted

First time playing at Shotts golf course & after reading reviews it was everything we imagined. Wasn't the best of days & when we arrived the girl told us the fairways were off & if we could use a matt or move our ball to side & also 11th hole was off..Not the best start but understandable as course was holding water. It didn't ruin our game or enjoying this course..it was personally the perfect ourselves for myself..Great layout, most holes you can see where ur aiming for & no big hills to climb..not the most challenging but if like me you just want a simple no nonsense course I would highly recommend shotts.

Used to be a member and it was great to go back. The 4th is still a great hole.

Course had a lot of rain recently but it was a pleasure to play. Junior members I met were a credit to the club

Great variety of hole layouts in good condition. Fun to play.
