Scoonie Golf Club
About
Given its seaside location overlooking picturesque farmland to the north and the Forth Estuary to the south, golfers would expect Scoonie Golf Club to be a traditional links layout but it is actually a parkland course. The stunning views of the surrounding countryside contrast nicely with the views of the sea. Long hitters might be disappointed since the golf course is quite short at 5,494 yards with the longest hole only reaching to 430 yards. It is a tight layout that is tough but fair. Accuracy is a necessity since players can find themselves facing a handful of problems from going even just a little wide. The club proudly boasts well manicured fairways and greens that are maintained to the highest standard. It is because of the excellent conditions that Scoonie Golf Club has garnered quite a following.

Fun course
Really enjoyed our afternoon at Scoonie, not the most difficult of courses or the longest. Greens are decent and the turf is quite links like even though the course is tree lined. Decent pace of play, shame there’s not a bar to enjoy a pint afterwards.
Sun Shone on Scoonie
Had the pleasure of playing the course on a fantastic August afternoon with my son. Pro was very friendly. Course was in excellent condition weather was fabulous. Only downside was that we just missed the food service when we finished the round. Other than that, I would thoroughly recommend. I will definitely be back.
Nice friendly course
Played in the afternoon for £11 each. Great value and the staff were friendly and helpful. Course in lovely condition although greens were only average. Course was pretty busy but moved along well with little waiting on any hole.
Great value
A nice course with some tricky holes despite being quite short. The course was in good condition although I found the greens to be slow.
The off course facilities seemed quite good with a nice pro shop and quality catering. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall a great little course that is fantastic value. I would recommend if in the area.
What a great little course for value and layout
We played the Scoonie on a recommendation from friends as we were looking for a practice round locally. Having seen some of the roadside holes numerous times when driving past on our way to St Andrews from previous visits and having played both Lundin and Leven before, we were pleasantly surprised how playable and fun this little course was. We would be hard pressed to find this type of course down south both from a value for money perspective and also from the genuine welcome we received.
This course is great fun and challenging at the same time. The greens were very true and fast.We sould definately play this course again.
Really interesting course and great value for money
We loved coming back to play Scoonies this year. The club pro was really Rivendell, it’s a great corse, really well maintained and amazing value for money compared to its more famous neighbour. Well worth a visit if you’re in Fife.
A great wee course.
The course was playing amazingly. Greens were in the best condition Iv ever seen. Loved playing there can’t wait for the next time.
Course has excellent running greens
Always a good course to play, pace a bit slow today i heard a few groups comment on that too. The greens were running excellent, all in all worth the pennies.
Short, interesting and a bargain.
The course was a wee bit muddy (in March) but the weather had been bad for ages so it could have been much worse. No par 5s so a fairly short course. Plenty of interest though. Wide fairways in the main, tree lined and plenty of bunkers. More interest on a couple of tricky par 3s. A mixture of flattish and hilly holes. Great afternoon out. Very enjoyable. Bargain green fees. Would recommend as a foil to the much more expensive links courses adjacent.
