Scoonie Golf Club

About
Given its seaside location overlooking picturesque farmland to the north and the Forth Estuary to the south, golfers would expect Scoonie Golf Club to be a traditional links layout but it is actually a parkland course. The stunning views of the surrounding countryside contrast nicely with the views of the sea. Long hitters might be disappointed since the golf course is quite short at 5,494 yards with the longest hole only reaching to 430 yards. It is a tight layout that is tough but fair. Accuracy is a necessity since players can find themselves facing a handful of problems from going even just a little wide. The club proudly boasts well manicured fairways and greens that are maintained to the highest standard. It is because of the excellent conditions that Scoonie Golf Club has garnered quite a following.

Great no fuss course
Down to earth course, some enjoyable holes. Great value and worth playing. Busy when I played. Maybe worth checking with pro shop for a quiet time if a single golfer.
Superb greens
Excellent greens at this stage in season a good challenge
PicK up sticks
Lots of fallen twigs lying around,I know it was windy for a few weeks but I would have thought the twigs could have been removed, apart from that the course was in good condition for the time of year and there have been many improvements.
Good course for time of year
Played here recently and enjoyed the layout
Course was set up a bit shorter due to winter conditions but greens were good.
Cracking wee course and interesting layout
We played Scoonie as part of our hole way round 2021 season. Great short course with a lot of character.

A great value course in Fife
Interesting municipal course, amazingly good value, friendly staff.
Enjoyed
Lovely wee course, very playable and in good condition.
A little Gem
Great course with enough hazards to cause problems if you find them. Enjoyed playing this course and good value
Good value
Solid, no frills little golf course for a very fair price at the weekend.
Short course with no par 5s, and plenty of room to hit wayward shots. Ideal for higher handicaps or people who just want to enjoy a little knock around.
Worth playing off the back tees if you’re a remotely long hitter.
Staff and players were friendly and helpful. Course conditions were good considering the rain the previous day.
Scoonie on a relatively quiet day
Course is in good condition albeit there are some areas of the course that are under or need repair. its a municipal course so would expect maintenance being dependent upon local authority funding. Bunkers particularly difficult to play out from when theres Pebbles and small stones mixed in with quite a rough sand. All in all its a course thats easy to walk and is forgiving , never tried the off course amenities , too many covid rules being applied just now to take any risks.
First time at Scoonie but will be back
Really welcoming staff in the starters office. Great morning for a game of golf, as it was nice and warm with the sun yet to break through the clouds. The course was well maintained and I enjoyed the range of par 3 holes on offer. The only downside was a four ball group holding things up a little for the two ball ahead of me but not really a big issue as the guys behind me were friendly and patient enough. The course itself is quite flat, but that made it easy to get round in just under 3 hours. The clubhouse looked well equipped for a nice lunch, but I had already made plans but will maybe stop in for a pint next time I’m up on holiday.
Scoonie golf course Leven
Course in good condition but greens were very very slow.
