Scoonie Golf Club
About
Given its seaside location overlooking picturesque farmland to the north and the Forth Estuary to the south, golfers would expect Scoonie Golf Club to be a traditional links layout but it is actually a parkland course. The stunning views of the surrounding countryside contrast nicely with the views of the sea. Long hitters might be disappointed since the golf course is quite short at 5,494 yards with the longest hole only reaching to 430 yards. It is a tight layout that is tough but fair. Accuracy is a necessity since players can find themselves facing a handful of problems from going even just a little wide. The club proudly boasts well manicured fairways and greens that are maintained to the highest standard. It is because of the excellent conditions that Scoonie Golf Club has garnered quite a following.

Lovely little course,
Great wee course,a wee bit boggy as to be expected after all the recent rain ,only thing that spoils it is that there are still no markers on the tee to give distance n hole number which is annoying as this situation has been dragging on for a long time now.
Scoonie Golf Course
Always a good day here. Course was busy but did not affect pace of play. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great Wee course
Scoonie is a great Wee course, they have been working hard over the closer to make the course look great and sorting out the Ruff.
Will defo be back AA++
Testing course typical link conditions
Course was in;superb condition the weather was kind despite forecast but the wind made it a bit more difficult, we played a two ball, but the four ball in front tended to slow us down and probably the rest of the course despite some attempts from us to let us play through they played on. So, slow play as side ld play Scoonie again and again.
Good condition for February
The course was well presented despite the time of year and recent rainfall. The greens were good albeit slow and all the tees were forward.
Got round in 2hrs 33 mins which is a new 18 hole record for me in a 2 ball.
I won’t rush back but I will be back at some point during the summer.
Once again a great day at Scoonie. The only downside was not being able to relax in the clubhouse after the round with a glass of the Amber nectar due to Govt Covid restrictions.
Scoonie
Love the course, variety in the holes and always have had friendly people and not overly pressured to play faster. Makes a refreshing change. Greens firm and fast and whole course in great condition.
Interesting course
Nice course, very playable for everyone. Generous fairways - you don’t spend ages looking for balls. Big sloppy greens are the challenge of the course. They were in excellent condition.
Lovely little course
Another great day in Five ,weather was really nice. And the course was in great condition.
Scoonie
Enjoyed the course although some parts were quite tight and some tee boxes a bit too close to the previous green. Course was very dry despite the recent rain and played well. At £21 I thought it was a bit pricey for a council course. Service with all staff was fantastic especially the starter and kitchen staff. Food was cheap but very tasty. Well done to all staff at Scoonie GC
Great see course
Enjoyed the course again, despite not playing great as my driver has a mind of its own,my partner played really well though and I managed a good drive on 18 which resulted in a par.The only bugbear with the course is the lack of markings on the tees,no numbers ,no yardage which I cannot understand,it's the only thing that spoils this wonderful little course.
Thank you for your review.
Apologies for the lack of markings. We removed our old one's in prep for brand new signage with visual maps & sponsorship etc, literally just before the Covid outbreak, so we have had to delay our signage.
We look forward to you visiting us again.
Nice
Went to this lovely little course last week and it’s a real gem- not overly long but tee shot placement is key for a good round. Some cute holes and very friendly staff, great views and greens were good, really enjoyed the afternoon
Thanks for your review. We look forward to you returning to Scoonie again.
Thank you for your review. We do pride ourselves in being great value for money, and although we are 'Trust' course, we have a very healthy membership at Scoonie, so improvements are ongoing. We look forward to seeing you return.
