St. Croix National Golf Course is a championship course that is tucked away amongst rolling, wooded hills. This scenic course is one of western Wisconsin's hidden gems. The undulating landscape covered with mature trees can seem intimidating but the layout was designed with spacious fairways and bailout areas that act as an excellent balance to the more challenging elements. The well conditioned greens putt fast and true, acting as a perfect complement to the beautiful scenery. There are strategically placed bunkers and water hazards coming into play but it is the topography will truly test your accuracy as well as a variety of other skills. St. Croix National G.C. also boasts a driving range perched high above a valley that collects the practice shots. It is the perfect preparation for the challenges of the golf course.

The course is really challenging but so beautiful, always a great pleasure to play it. Staff and course were incredible, can’t wait for the new building to be done, thanks eric

Tough

Extremely scenic, condition of fairways and greens very good. Elevation changes, several blind shots and sloping lies make this a very difficult course to play. Hole 9 is basically unplayable even with a good drive. I won't play this course again but I'm glad I played it.

Great views

Course had numerous blind shots but GPS in carts with touch screens offered good visibility and shot creation. Staff were great. Cool hole 19 to practice elevated tee shots. Great chipping greens

Maybe a better ski resort than a golf course.

St. Croix National is located in a beautiful setting among hills and hardwood Forrest. I was interested because of its close proximity to Stillwater, Mn. The course is located on the old Birch Park Ski park. That means lots of high hill tee shots to a green down below. Other holes seem to be cut through the Forrest and are very tight. It seems like there is not much room for error here. Maybe better golfers than me would appreciate the narrow fairways and many blind shots. I did not. I lost 6 balls in just 4 holes, and felt like quitting. We played nine holes, and at a “special rate” of $39 with cart, I don’t see the value. I shoot around 100 for 18 holes, and this course wasn’t worth nearly $40 for nine holes. The scenery is excellent, and other better golfers might have a better go.

Tough golf.

Very difficult course. Not much room to miss the narrow fairways. Lost 8 balls on first 4 holes.

Beautiful scenery, but kind of gimmicky golf.

Great staff!

Too many blind shots

Very nice employees, course layout terrible, blind shots on almost every hole. Worst 18th hole I’ve ever played, I pared it and still hated it. 2 blind shots and my T ball was in the fairway .

Must Play

Spectacular view from every Tee Box. It was a very warm day, the staff was very personable, pointed out all the high points. Instructed to make sure to tee off from the Scenic tee on Hole 1. It is a difficult course, if you try to over play it, it will be a long day. I had a great time, I must admit, I had a 9 on one hole but I chipped in from 34 yards out on the 12th for Birdie. The green is a stone throw from the road, the passers by, thought I must have been on a signed out 2 day pass from a facility, by the way I was jumping around on the Green I was so happy. Thanks again St Croix National. Great job.

Absolutely beautiful course with challenging fairways and greens. Awful pace of play. Tried mentioning it to the pro shop, but they didn’t do anything. We played this Thursday morning. 12:10 tee time and we we caught all of the morning groups in an hour and 6 holes. After that the pace was around 3/4 holes per hour. Needs someone keeping tabs on pace of play. Thankfully it is gorgeous scenery while you wait for hours.

Hilly

Really hilly, I'm more of a links style player. Need to be able to loft a shot. Played in just under 4 hours so that was nice. No ranger, could have used one on the front 9. Speed on greens perfect
