Apple Mountain Golf Resort
About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Most Amazing Beautiful course. Difficulty is high, but views are well worth the loss of golf balls!!!
Amazing
I have nothing bad to said about that place. The staff very friendly they let me play before my tee time and I had the fortune to play with two people very friendly and help me to select my shots. And the course was beautiful so I want to play there again.
Beautiful BUT Tough
Heard about this place for several years and finally made it out. I was told it was tough but scenery was supposed to be amazing. Both true.
Cart path only on several holes, with most holes cart path only on the last part of fairway, some 1/2 of that and some a 1/3. With the extreme hilly climb up and down not fun.
Didn’t help it was hotter than heck and humid. We quit after nine.
Bottom line if your a low handicap this is your course, for me and most people I play with going out as a single it’s simply not a fun round of golf.
Sadly we’ll never play here again.
Nice Course
A very difficult course to play. It will test your game specially your shot game.
Mountain Gem
Tee off at 1pm. Course in excellent shape. Not many people out more than likely because it was hot for the foothills. Extremely quiet, serene, nobody playing music in there cart,. Awesome round and condition,
Apple Mountain
This is a not very friendly course for the average golfer.
Beautiful and challenging
I decided to play Apple Mountain when some friends told me about it. It was spectacularly beautiful, amazing scenery, deer or bucks walking around on most holes.
The greens were fast and tough, lots of slopes and undulations. Lots of elevation changes from tee to green. Staff was excellent, plus the starter gave out a tip sheet for the course. The next time I play there I will know some of the layouts a little better, there are several blind shots. The pro shop recommended the gold tees for first timer 17 handicappers like me. I still shot 32 over. Also, bring plenty of golf balls because you will need them.
Also the price was very reasonable, and they offer a senior discount.
I will definitely play here again soon.
Cav
It’s my favorite course in the greater Sacramento area; beautiful, challenging and a skill improvement course if you play it often enough.
Also, Ryan is a great asset to the business!
Chris Hudin
A great course with a wonderful staff bring lots of golf balls it is a hard course, beautiful views.
Ups and Downs
Very hilly. Almost every tee shot was either steep going up or steep going down. Requires a lot of walking as you can’t take a cart in many places because of the terrain. Very enjoyable and challenging. I would definitely play this course again.
Great course but….
This course is beautiful. Nestled in the mountain pines with great views and a fun layout. Love it. What I don’t love is the pace of play here. Played the course twice now and have yet to finish a round in under 5 hours. So darn slow. It’s slow because the course is very difficult if you’re a high handicap golfer. I saw numerous groups searching in the woods for their golf balls. From 1 through 18 there isn’t much relief if you don’t hit the ball fairly straight. Not the course’s fault. I only mention this as a warning to those of you who hate waiting every hole to hit. Again, this course is beautiful and fun if you have the patience required to finish 18 holes.
Great course!!
Great layout. Nice greens.
Everything''s great about this course.
