About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Golfer Reviews
Fun mountain course with beautiful views
This was my first time playing Apple Mountain. I drove up from Sacramento (about an hour drive from downtown Sacramento).
The practice area was great. Nice chipping area, bunkers to practice from, etc. The only drawback to the practice area was that the range was limited to the mats today.
The course is a typical mountain course with lots of dramatic elevation changes, both uphill and downhill holes. There are alot of dogleg holes carved around the mountain terrain. The course is beautiful, but there were LOTS of areas with bare dirt around the greens and on the slopes in the fairways.
The course is not long in length, but it plays alot longer than the scorecard indicates due to the elevation changes. The course rating is low, which definitely surprises me considering that this is a pretty challenging course.
If you’re playing for the first time, stop thinking and book a tee time. The views alone and cool mountain air are worth it.
Great
As always course was in great shape. Pace of play was great Marshall was very nice. Only thing I could ask for was for military discount to be everyday not just mon-thurs.
Sloooooooow play
5hours for 15 holes multiple 5-somes and terrible 4somes playing from tips barely passing ladies tees beautiful course long way to drive
A eapeirnce to be shared..
How would the PGA play here? The caddies would have to be`Sherpas ,, I doubt the players could make the climbs..But in a cart with worn brakes it is a becomes a spectacular thrill. Gorgeous. !! Simply Gorgeous.!
Extreme elevation changes lush fairways tract through the forest .Plenty of traps, plenty of water and the huge well manicured greens provided many interesting putts. .. . Wonderful practice areas too. Take your A game. and share this with people you want to remember, cuz you won;t forget this place.

Course is in great condition. It's a hard track, but with a Golf Now "Hot Deal" price, very playable!
ALWAYS A FUN COURSE TO PLAY
I PUT DOWN THAT IT WAS HOT HOWEVER I CAME IN FROM LAKE HAVASU CITY AZ ,SO IT REALLY WAS NOT HOT COMPARED TO WHERE I CAME FROM JUST MUGGY,COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE ,FIRST NINE HOLES MOVED ALONG JUST FINE .BACK NINE WE CAME TO A STOP DUE TO A FOURSOME PLAYING REAL SLOW AND WOULD NOT LET THE TWO SUMS BEHIND THEM PLAY THROUGH.OTHER THEN THAT GREAT TIME AND DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK. THIS PLACE HAS A GREAT PRACTICE FACILITELY
Majestic
The word I can best use to describe this course is majestic. With dramatic elevation changes and sharp turns golfers will definitely need well placed shots to score low on this course. The rating being so low definitely surprises me considering that this is a pretty difficult course. If you’re even thinking about playing for the first time, stop thinking and book a tee time. The views alone are worth it.
1st time playing here, Beautiful course!!! Challenging and shot placement is crucial here. Had awesome staff working here, had slow group in front, Marshall made them skip. Hole and pace picked up nicely, food was also very good, will definitely be back, P.S. bring extra balls
Challenging course.
A challenging course where shot placement is key. If you are not accurate or play to aggressive you are in trouble!
Awesome hilly course
I have heard of this course and I was warned that it is hard and to bring a lot of balls.
When you arrive you are greeted with the beauty of the Sierra foothills. It is so gorgeous here that you might forget to play golf and just look around.
The course is very hilly and several hundred feet in elevation change. It is very challenging, you need to know where to lay up and which club to use on the elevated tees. The fairways were in great shape, the greens were well manicured and VERY VERY FAST!!! I normally putt 32 to 36 times on similar courses, this time I had 41 putts. I lost 3 balls, one because I didn't know the course and hit a drive too far and OB I went. 2 others were lost in the hazard areas. i was happy with losing only 3 balls. My playing partner lost 12.
I cannot say enough how pretty this course is.
Every tee entry has a name for each hole, along with neat Totem pole yardages marked on them.
Play here
Always welcomed with smile and always appreciated, never does management dissapoint. The course was in excellent condition
Great day, slow pace
The course was in great shape.
However, we set off at 1:40 pm and didn’t finish until 7. A round over 5 hours is never enjoyable. Two groups ahead was a fivesome, and we waited for a few minutes on every hole. That being said, there was a Marshall on the course that we only saw once. Too bad, as the course was great other than the poor pace of play. Unsure I’ll drive an hour to wait on every tee box.
Great coarse
Challenging but awesome scenery and the coarse is in great shape. Nice weather a must play
