Skylinks Golf Course

It is always a pleasure to make the drive from LA to Long Beach and play some municipal courses that are maintained well (compared to Los Angeles where government “leaders” seem to have lost interest. An enjoyable day to be sure.

Starter was super nice… pace of play was OK except for the Par 3s… course was in decent shape but greens were a bit slow… overall good round of golf on a day off from work

This course used to be a bit of a value and novelty. Planes flying low over your head on multiple holes. Even for a muni in LAC. But as the prices have crept up it’s gone way too far the other way.

For $75 a round, I’d expect someone to even mention that the greens are covered with sand. Or at least cut a discount or free drink or something. But of course not. Nothing like walking up the 1st green to see punches from 1-9 and sand from 10-18.

This course for what it is should be $40. Go elsewhere unless it’s this price or cheaper.

Don't go to putt on the sand with expensive money..

Without any knowledge or pre-warning, they were plugging and sanding all the greens. They continue to charge full price. There was more sand on the greens, and there was in the traps. At least they could’ve done is let us know ahead of time or giving us a discount letting us know that we couldn’t play on the greens. I realize that at this time of the year it’s common to aerate the greens. Normally they give you a warning ahead of time or they discount the round of golf. Or they will do with the front nine one week and the back nine at a later date. That was very greedy for American Golf to pull that off.

This could be a fun spot, but every time I go it is an awful experience with this most recent being the worst. First I get there, and this course is 95$ to ride; not bad but not cheap. The bathroom looked like a bomb went off, completely unusable; feces on the seats level bad. I tell the lady in the pro shop and she gives me attitude like she’s paying me to be there. Then, they squeeze a group in front of us making us tee off ten mins late, and again the starter is a complete jerk making fun of us for complaining. Just a terrible place, and while the course is decent I would rather play another course with some level customer service. They act like cause they fill up the tee sheet, that their paying customers don’t deserve respect. Never going back

Love playing here but the 4 stars would be 5 if bunkers got more attention..

I see why they never have hot deals. This course is amazing. Highly recommend.

Fairways on front nine were awful. Large patches of weeds in many parts of fairways. Grass was uneven. Back nine was dramatically different - nice cut fairways with no weeds. 'Sand' traps were like playing off concrete.
