Bunkers dreadful
Enjoy playing Skylinks and it's part of a regular rotation.
Greens are always in good to excellent shape, but tlc is needed on the tee boxes and on the bunkers. As the primary protection hazard, the bunkers need to be playable.
Current hard dirt, with minimal dust on the top.
Leveling and mowing the tee boxes would also add to the playabilty.
Course needs lots of work
Tee boxes by the most part all need lots of work. There’s a lot of maintenance needed all over the course. The price paid I expected something at least half as better than what it was and couldn’t even do that. I wouldn’t come back to course especially at the cost they are charging. Overall very disappointed.
Day out for fun
Overall course was nice, decent greens/fairways. Enjoyed the par 4’s & 5’s.. definitely will play again.
Only bad review was the guy in pro shop… unfriendly & had attitude he ‘couldn’t be bothered’’ Found that quite rude. Gentlemen @ 1st Tee sending ppl out was the exact opposite. Extremely friendly & helpful. . Pro shop guy needs to check his attitude
Good but Not Great
Played here for the first time and here are some take always:
Pros:
-Greens are true and fun.
- Pace of play is great (we finished in 4 hours on a weekend twilight tee time).
- layout is interesting.
- Tee boxes are nice.
Cons:
- Bunkers are trashed, and are the main defense for the course. Mostly hard pan or ultra fine sand.
-Fairways we’re even, but we’re hard underneath the grass, and were challenging to get a ball airborne at times and take divots.
-Cost $80 to play and ride, which is way too expensive for the poor surface conditions.
This place could be a great mid-tier course, it just needs some extra TLC, and care on the fairways and bunkers.
Great Course Terrible Starters
Probably my 5th or 6th round here purely out of convenience overall it's a fun course the staff are usually pretty pretentious which is ironic for a muni, players club is only worth it for the range balls.
The last 2 times I've played here the starters and general pace of play have just been dreadful.
Yesterday the starter was ranting to me about how he doesn't go off of times and how he had a big gap in front of the group ahead of who then backed up the next 2 groups all round long for a 5 1/2 hour round of golf. Just dreadful. For the money there are much better courses and staff that aren't a clown show.
Affordable public course
Black tee’s were closed so we played Blues. All blue tee boxes were a bit out of shape. Fairways were excellent. Bunkers were either good or pretty bad. Around the greens was a bit patchy. Greens were in good shape. If they rolled and mowed the greens to a 10/11 it would be a really great course from the blacks! Recommend for local public course.
