Slow play
Almost 5 hours to play, waited on every shot from the 1st to the 18th
Great course
I would definitely play this course again. Good walking course, good fairways, greens and tee boxes, and just fun to play. Pace of play was slow at times I played in the middle of the day in LA so kind of expect it. Only other downsides was no beverage cart on the day I went and water fountain had warm water coming out.
Markers are not always placed correctly
I love playing this course and it is always hard to find a tee times here when I normally play. Whenever I get one, I am happy to finally get to play it again. However, I absolutely hate playing this course when they don't place markers correctly. It seems like half the times they don't follow the scorecard ranges for markers. Today, 9 holes had blue placed where black would be on the scorecard. Why not just put down black markers? I mean, they have it on the dumb scorecard already. Anyways, this is so infuriating to me because we try to play tees suitable for the group and when we are recording rounds for handicap, we already started on blue and get cheated on differential scoring. Do we take it too seriously? Maybe, but I don't see why a golf course can't just adhere to the ranges on their scorecard. Here is a picture of 18, blue placed at 450 yards where even if you hit a 250 yard drive, you got a 200 yard shot over water to a tucked pin on the left.
Poor Management punishes early tee time
We had the first tee time, and really enjoyed the front 9 but the back 9 began with us arriving right behind a league that they booked at 7:45 not only was this booked at the wrong time but it was set with two foursomes on each hole that we had to wait on. We left it wasn’t worth the waste of time. To be fair we did get a refund but the point of the day was to play a fast early round and poor management of the tee sheet ruined that.
First time play.
On vacation. I just got on golf now and found this course and it was close to where I was visiting. Had 7:10 am tee time and our group went off on time. Fairways and Greens were fantastic. A couple tee boxes were rough but I believe they had an event the weekend before. Greens rolled very fast and true. Greens held shots well. The group I was paired with played the Blue tees and I joined them, but I really should have played the White tees. Long par 3s, one was playing 230yds. Play with someone who has played there before. The regulars helped me greatly. I hope I get back to CA and I will play again...from the Whites LOL.
