#17 I think this should be the signature hole. Enough balls in the lake to make it look like an Easter Basket. Lol Photo submitted by Geno7176732 on 09/27/2016

Always enjoy this course
I like the course - the par 3's are all good; fairways are tight and firm; greens were fast, but they are relatively new and had top dressing
Hilly topography is Surprisingly Fair
This course has a lot of elevation changes but the design has managed to keep you from being surprised or getting unlucky bounces
Course was well maintained and greens were fast and true
Pace of play was great and several groups were encouraging playing through without being asked
Would recommend the course
Disappointing
This course is a great layout and I do enjoy playing this track. I heard that they had redone their greens last year so I gave it some time to mature before I drove a good distance to play there and I found it very disappointing. The markers on the Teebox hadn’t been moved for at least a week so they were brown and yellow and worn out. Fairways were in OK shape but when it came to the greens they were full of sand bumps ridges tire marks from the equipment they used to put out the sand. This is supposed to be a premium course and it looks like a $20 muni right now . I sure hope they put some money back in this place or it is going to lose a lot of customers
One of the better subdivision-course layouts in the area
The Triangle is home to many golf courses tucked into housing subdivisions. They vary in quality from awful to pretty good; the bad ones suffer from bad design, bad routing, and lack of character, unless you consider target golf a sign of character.
Chapel Ridge is definitely among the better courses--it's a fair layout in good shape with fast, well-kept greens. It is walkable but just barely, with several very long treks from one green to the next tee box. Landing areas for drives are generous and the greens are well-defended without being overly punitive. I generally score better here than I do at my home course (UNC Finley).
Great Round of Golf
Chapel ridge is great course. One of the best in the Raleigh area. I would highly recommend this course. It is a great course challenging but you won’t lose a lot of balls. Has to be one of best value courses around.
If you want to charge a premium price make sure you have a premium course
At the price this course charges I believe they should be able to afford to have sand filled, rock free bunkers. Nothing screams quality like having to hit your Vokey through gravel and dirt. Also put some drinking water out on the course
Not what it used to be.
Chapel Ridge has always been one of my favorite layouts however my last round there was somewhat of a let down. The greens were fine, somewhat slow but rolled good. The fairways were average at best and a lot of the course looked unkept and overgrown. Like all other courses Chapel Ridge has increased their prices but it doesn't' appear the money is going back into the course. Hopefully this will change and the course will get back to what it used to be.
Great time
It's been a while since the four of us played chapel ridge. It was in great condition with the greens a bit slick.
It is a favorite of mine but…
Lately the pace of play there has been pretty poor. Made the turn and 7 carts were on the #10 tee - that is inexcusable. This turned what was a fairly quick round into an abysmal enjoyment sucking round. 15-20min waits at every tee box. The ranger needs to do more than start the groupings. There needs to be some enforcement of the pace of play. There are a few holes with blind tee shots, so why not have carts with the electric ranger and show the gps of the course. It’s 2022, I think it’s time to propel the game forward a bit.
The grill was out of hot dogs and the extras were frozen? And they weren’t actively thawing any out (from my plying partners POV).
A short game area would be amazing too. The whole right side of the range is unused why not install a small chipping/short game complex. 20yrd shots.
Tee boxes have a terrible crab grass infestation and the 3 or 4 pins were cut into healing fungal areas causing the putts to wobble near the cup.
The rest of the course was top notch condition and I love the layout here! This used to be the premier course in the area and I always thought of it as a benchmark but it’s falling away from that as of late.
I will continue to play here however I now know to expect it to be a 5hr or more round.
