The Golf Club at Chapel Ridge

Wife and I really liked the course. It was challenging but not overbearing. Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape. The greens are good, but a little slow with some bumps since they are still growing after replacement. We are definitely coming back.

The course has a real nice layout with some width in the fairways to keep play moving.

Greens are new and coming along. We’re very slow the day we played but should be able to slick up next season.

For the price to play it is a great value and challenging golf course. Wide open fairways with nice size greens. Great course contours. Will play it again!

After all the rain over the weekend we anticipate a muddy mess, but it drained very well. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. The bunkers could use some love, but were playable.

The course is in good shape with recently replaced greens that are cut a little long until they mature.

New greens are great. Course was in good condition. Played after a rain shower and course drains well. No standing water issues.

I regret to post a two star rating for this course because it is a very good golf course and deserves better. The reason I am doing this is because at NO point prior to making a reservation was there mention of the greens being re-grassed and not usable. All 18 greens were closed and a tin and cup were placed 20 to 40 yards in front of the green in the fairway. Management needs to inform golfers BEFORE making a reservation of this. I felt cheated when I found this out - and all the people at Chapel Ridge needed to do was tell me - I still would have booked and player there. September 18 is the date the pro shop staff told me was the date set to open the greens for play - : - ( and for management on this situation I give them half a peace sign !

The course would have been a lot better if you were able to play the greens and fairways. The course was dry and they are reseeding the holes so we were unable to putt..

Worst golf experience ever!!! Did not allow us a refund, even though you couldn’t putt…. No notification that they were working on the greens until I drove 2 hrs from Charlotte!! I will never come back!

I was excited to play due to knowing the course. When I arrived to the course, there was a sign on the door stating the greens were not able to be used and there would be “greens” at the end of the fairways. This made the course very unchallenging and boring. There was no mention of the green management on GolfNow or the courses website. I like the course but without the information on the green I was very disappointed.

The place is supposed to be relatively new yet the bathroom tile walls were already cracking and the doors were pealing from moisture. The fairways and other structures all needed attention. Too many weeds, other grasses too long and landscaping not kept up with. Many water cooler boxes were falling apart. Very disappointing.

Greens are under changout. “Temp green” in front of greens, however no attempt to cut fairway grass any shorter to at least give somewhat of a target. Bunkers haven’t been drug probably all summer. Great course layout, but needs TLC to get into better shape. At least it was cheap.

Seems like a great course didn’t realize when I went that they had temporary greens. I will not be going to a course again during that but I am excited to come play when they are done.
