Shorecliffs Golf Club

The brand new clubhouse is beautiful, staff was friendly and the food and beverage options were great. No range but we were told we could use the simulator to warm up but they wouldn’t set us up because they were waiting for a reservation to arrive. No starter so a group ended up taking our time (solid 12 minutes early) and they were super slow and held us up all day. The front nine runs along storm drains and up thru the neighbors and canyons- really interesting and challenging with some holes that don’t really have a fairway and it’s not well maintained (probably due to the challenging landscape/ elevation). Back nine is more traditional with wider fairways and nice greens. Overall, unique experience.

IT LOOKED LIKE THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A MAINTENACE CREW ANYMORE.

Played this course years ago and said I wouldn’t play it again, then after reading reviews of the course after renovations, I decided to give it a go again. They did a great job with the clubhouse and restaurant, and the course conditions were much better than before. Still has some issues on a few of the greens and fairways, but overall wasn’t bad. Rough around the greens is challenging, and I wish people would repair their ball marks on the greens and rake the bunkers. Course would stay in much better shape if the players did their part. Pace of play wasn’t bad, 4.5 hours for the 4some I played with. For the right deal on GolfNow, I’d play it again

Course is looking really nice… just maybe add more real bathrooms on the course for the lady’s but I had a great round with my wife.. the staff was super friendly with them even grabbing my bags from my car and loading them back into the car… I’m 39 and my wife is younger so I don’t have a problem carrying my bags but that kind of service is what takes this course to the next level, the tacos at the turn where amazing but I had to wait 10 min even though I ordered at the 8th tee box so we got behind pace after that.. I read bad reviews about the marshal Skip but he kindly asked to try and catch up to the group in front and said have a good round.. will be back soon…

Hidden Gem.. don’t believe the reviews, the whole staff was amazing, yes even skip.. I feel like the reviews are add to keep people away and to keep this a hidden gem..

The fairways and greens are in great shape, even as we hit August 1st. I hadn't played here in over 10 years until a few weeks ago. I've now played twice. It's nothing like the ShoreCliffs of old. I think this course is a great value. There are a couple of holes that are a bit of a wonky layout, but otherwise, it's challenging. If you keep the ball in teh fairway, you can score well. If you spray it a bit, you'll churn through some balls.

tight track trhough canyons, a little dated on the course side but was really relaxing and fun round. Clubhouse has been updated witha great restuarant ,bar and hitting bays. Awesome value.

Well, rude counter guy that took way too long and chatted with some guy that was not even playing while 5 people were in line? Check. Go out and see the starter for your order of play he says...except there was no starter that day? We searched and found asked a cart guy and he was polite but said... yeah no one is here as a starter today. It was a bit of a mess at the 1st tee while 3 groups tried to figure out who was supposed to play 1st, pretty uncomfortable. The course wanders through a canyon and houses, it tends to be tight with Ob and or red staked hazards on both sides. With some pretty severe uphill and downhill tee shots here and there. The fairways are pretty spotty people had to move balls to find grass. Not heavy on bunkers but the course sand in the bunkers that I looked at were unraked with gouge marks and footprints. There were rakes but apparently no one at their "exclusive club" wants to sully their hands by cleaning their mess up. Entitled much? The greens were a bit slow with straight putts breaking sometimes left sometimes right, as the greens were a bit lumpy. I guess the good news is there were not many ball marks on the greens as it appears no on down there can hit a green unless they are within 30 yards of it. The course is in a good area with ok beach type weather, you can peek at the ocean as you drive to one hole. Nice new clubhouse. Just one porta potty one the course. I heard bad things about the food from one of the golfers so I did not get anything. It would be hard for me to say the course was a good value. But it is a golf course, if you hit the ball straight and don't mind missing putts because of random bumps. It may be for you.

Staff and clubhouse were great.

The issue is that Tee boxes(and some greens and fairways) are not well maintained and seem to be broken randomly more than a few times. .

Pace of play , as everywhere, totally depends on people in front of you - Marshall was not enforcing times for certain groups that were extremely slow.

End of day , this was the only place where I found tee times on sunday so may play again.

2nd time in the last month. Enjoyable round with only a few, questionable course maintenance issues. Definitely continue to keep up with the improvements! Overall a great value!

Course played a little slow. . Some of the holes had no markings (signs) on which way to go. Should had removed the old markings,Some bad spots on the turf and in fairways and greens.
