About
Shorecliffs Golf Course wanders through the coastal canyons and valleys of San Clemente, heading towards the beautiful shoreline. Situated just steps from the ocean, the course enjoys cool ocean breezes and a temperate climate, which makes it a year-round haven for golfers. Its location also provides the golf course with plenty of scenic ocean views. The course features narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and small greens bordered by sand bunkers. The front nine is shorter and requires more accuracy than the longer, wider back nine. Shorecliffs opens with one of the trickiest par-5s in the area. This dogleg left hole features trouble both left and right. Although the layout does offer a fair challenge, players of all skill levels will feel comfortable taking on the golf course.

Poor conditions
Greens are in flux with some par 5's converted to par 3's during their 4 plus year renovation. It's going to take another 2-3 years if residents can stop suing other residents and the city, Greens are small with a lot of uneven or steep slopes that make an already narrow course even more challenging. You get penalized for good shots in the greens that most courses don't do.

Four holes destroyed
Golfnow really needs to inform users when golf courses are in poor condition. In this course, major construction is in progress. 4 holes have been destroyed. 3 others have been compromised (cut in half). Only 17 total are available for play. GPS is useless. Miserable experience!

Bad shspe
This course had been under renovation for years. It is much shorter now with 6 makeshift par 3s on the front nine. There is a lot of potential with this course but not playable now.

Enjoyable Outing but under renovations
First time playing this course, the Course is wide open and forgiving of bad shots, overall had a fun afternoon although many areas are under renovations. Course starts out with a Hole 1-A and 1-B, because Hole 3 is not playable while under renovation. Also, I believe it was Hole 5 that is entire under reconstruction due to an adjoining Hill landslide. The following Hole (can’t recall if it was a temp #5 or #6) had no Hole Yardage information to gauge distance. Recommendation: Add better Cart Signage and frequency to direct golfers along the paths to the next hole, occasionally you feel lost. The Staff, Marshall, and other Golfers were friendly which made the play enjoyable. Can’t wait to try the Course again when all the renovation are completed.

Sooo much construction going on
The front 9 is tore up and they really don't mention that when you book your tee time. They have holes split in two and others closed.
It was difficult to keep straight what hole you are on and scoring accordingly. I'll give it a year or more before I play again.
