Sweetwater Golf & Country Club
About
Sweetwater Country Club is situated amid the beauty of the Wekiva State Park. Sweetwater is one of Orlando's premier golf courses, boasting a challenging championship layout with some of the area's best greens. The classic links layout brings a taste of Scottish golf to central Florida. Mature oaks shade the golf course, lining the fairways and framing the greens. The 6,771-yard layout offers a good amount of length but it's definitely not a grip-it-and-rip-it course thanks to tight fairways that require accurate shot placement. The course is home to one of the longest par 5s in the Southeast, a challenging 625-yard hole that is aptly named the "Loch Ness Monster." The heavily tree-lined hole double doglegs around a large lake. There are some challenging holes but Sweetwater Country Club isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Good- Greens slow but in good shape.
Bad- All other course conditions.
I can't believe this was a private course which had paying members.
Back nine has a much better layout than front.
Play here for $35 but no more until they buy fertilizer and weed killer.
Great round
My friend and I took advantage of this course being temporarily open to the public. Nice layout with several unique challenging holes. Some grass was a little patchy, but that's to be expected with our unrelenting heat. Overall it was in pretty good shape. Very few amenities as they are finishing renovations of the clubhouse but the starter was very friendly. I'll definitely try this one again before they close to the public.
Tight course but in good condition
This course is very tight with trees on both sides of the fairways, particularly on the back 9. However, it is a nice course which is in pretty good condition. The greens were too fuzzy this time, but I suspect that they mow them closer on the weekends.
" the Flash from the Past "
." A little disappointing to be honest "
... this Golf course was such a treat to play in the 1980's -- 1990's -- 2000's ,
when we were members of the Club.
On a Positive note ....
Just needs a little TLC and investment $$$$$ to return it to the Pride of Past !!!
The Staff was very Professional and Personal ...
" Thanks for the opportunity to visit "

Sweetwater CC is "sweet"
Played with a relative who takes group golf trips regularly. Thought Sweetwater was better than any course he had ever playe in Fla. And better than most in the Carolinas.
Thought it was beautiful, and gee a were excellent. Much better than courses he had paid 4-5 times as much to play, although we lucked in to the lowest price I had ever seen on this course. Best golf deal either of us ever had. No waiting on Fri. Afternoon.
Great course
Absolutely loved it. Great course great layout and excellent view
Well playable track in rather moderate condition
This is a good place to go, but nothing special at all. The course has some narrow holes that require straight shots. Fairways and bunkers are OK. T-boxes need some attention. Greens are mostly OK, but not really special.
It is just a “small” place, OK for a pleasant round but nothing much to it.
An aging gem
Reasonably well maintained course conditions. Generous fairways, with well guarded greens by sand and water. Greens were very slow, with subtle undulations. A very good test of golf, but fair. We very much enjoyed our day. Clearly being run on a shoe string, although conditions still allow for a satisfying round.
Ejoyable Round
Have played this course a few times and find it is in good shape and not too crowded.
Always a challenge
Some very tight holes demand straight tee shots and some elevation change make this a very good layout to test your game. Greens were a bit slower than normal but still very acceptable. all skill levels should enjoy this course.
Sweetwater
We found a great deal at Sweetwater online. However, the day we chose, the course had a members event that ran late. Many tee times were delayed about an hour waiting for the carts to be returned. Once we teed off, though, the day was great. Pace of play was OK even with the backup. The course plays somewhat tight, but there are places to hit controlled shots. The greens seem to putt really well the times we have played here
Sweetwater review
Nice course, will come back and play again ! Loved the layout !
Interesting and challenging
I really enjoyed playing this course. Pretty difficult because of all the trees. Several tee shots have over hanging trees that you must be aware of. Par threes are pretty frisky. Greens roll very nicely and are actually better then they appear. Number 10 is a Monster.
No food and beverage available as they were getting ready for a wedding.
Definitely worth a look !!!
A bit unusual that you have to drive back down the first fairway ( or cross over and drive down second ) to get to 2nd tee box. A good place to get hit !!
Great conditions
I was greeted in the Pro Shop by the assistant pro Lee Mann......very helpful.....great attitude. I love this course. The condition is excellent. it's nice to see green fairways and tee boxes. The greens are some of the best In the area. I'm eighty two and it's nice to be able to get on in regulation, this course allows me to do that, once in a while. My son and I played here last Saturday. I 've been back
three time since then...can't get enough of a good track.
Never enough golfing
My wife and I play the Sweetwater course twice a month. We consider it an open type course; however, we prefer a more precision type layout. Yet, we enjoy playing there and have played with others of like mind.
