Sweetwater Golf & Country Club
About
Sweetwater Country Club is situated amid the beauty of the Wekiva State Park. Sweetwater is one of Orlando's premier golf courses, boasting a challenging championship layout with some of the area's best greens. The classic links layout brings a taste of Scottish golf to central Florida. Mature oaks shade the golf course, lining the fairways and framing the greens. The 6,238-yard layout offers a good amount of length but it's definitely not a grip-it-and-rip-it course thanks to tight fairways that require accurate shot placement. The course is home to one of the longest par 5s in the Southeast, a challenging 625-yard hole that is aptly named the "Loch Ness Monster." The heavily tree-lined hole double doglegs around a large lake. There are some challenging holes but Sweetwater Country Club isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Pretty course.
I enjoyed the course. Not to many hazarded from the senior tees. I was supposed to play with my sister , she could not make it Managed to pair up after a few holes with a sociable fellow.
This course is a great value for the money.
The fairways are in good condition and the greens are in very good condition.
Sand traps are challenging.
First time to play this course. Will play it again. Good course for less experienced golfers.
Tight Course with plenty of challenges
The course is maintained better than most in the area. The fairways are narrow and trees line most fairways, so a straight drive is important. The greens are an average speed but in good shape. The have a good bit of grain so pay attention to it's direction. Out of bounds are on most holes. I like the 3 par 3's on the front and 3 par 5's on the back it gives you a chance to pick up a few shots. All in all it's a great course and I'd play it again anytime.
Great condition best course for the money
I found this course in pretty good condition especially the fairways were good but the greens were in excellent shape!
Tee boxes were not all chopped off with no grass in them, they were overall in Good condition. Love the landscape. Also the carts there are not extremely slow, they actually move when you push the pedal not like some other courses i have played where the carts barely move.
the only thing i didn't like was that i Didnt know where to turn in my cart at the end of the day, the cart hut is not easy to find so i just left the cart in the parking lot.
Nevertheless I Definitely recommends his course!!! One of my favorites.
so so experiance
The course itself was great! The club house staff wasn't rude but not overally accommodating. We booked our deal that included a "BAR" drink and were told we could only have a soda. The bar staff wasn't much better. The staff included a young women and an older man. The young women was pleasent but the man seemed very impatient. It seemed he did not appreciate our buisness so we quickly had one beverage and left.
This course is poorly maintained.
I have not liked this course since it was lengthened and redone. It is crammed in between houses (as if the course were an afterthought), and the new tee boxes ruin the play-ability of many of the holes. On top of that, the fairways have almost no grass: we played lift and look for turf on every shot. The greens, though pretty and re-done, were abysmally slow: we gave up and took two putts after a few holes. The rough often was unplayable because it was being used as a dump site. Even in the Men's Locker Room, out of five sinks with soap dispensers, only one dispenser had soap in it. If I can help it, I will never play here again.
Needs attention
Fairwys are very poor, greens where in good condition, bunkers were horrible, its a $20 course. The cart girl ran out of beer, more interested in going home than getting us any and that was 1:30,play somewhere else unless your desperate
Not your typical Florida course more Southern than tropical.
Greens in very good condition, but playing slow. Tee boxes need to be re-sodded. Fairways not bad, tight lies, and in some cases need to find some grass to hit off of.
Great set up of the course layouts. However, the par 3s on the front are very challenging . Overall great course for the price.
Great course for the price. Its a hidden secret in the golf community. Somewhere quiet and not packed on the weekend go to Sweetwater!
Great value!!!!
Solid course with its own interesting holes... The track will provide opportunities to use a variety of clubs and test your course management skills. If the wind is blowing you will really have a lot of fun!!! Don't let the short hole fool you... The greens can be a pain in the Bum!!!
Some fun holes. The front nine was easier than the back. Greens were very slow.
The previous time I golfed here the greens were much faster than this time. They were very shaggy this time. The front nine is quite easy if you can keep your tee shot in the fairway for the first couple holes. The back is tougher with tightness rather than length as the biggest challenge. The fairways were only in fair shape, and the greens were very shaggy - much slower than when I golfed the course a few weeks ago. It was inexpensive to golf this course using golfnow.com.
Fun and Chellanging
the overall course condition was good. The greens were very nice but slow. This is not a bombers course, many par 4s are short but require good shot selection. All of the holes have their own character and are interesting, Most fairways are tree lined which makes them more narrow. Will need to hit accurate shots to score well here. This is a fun course to play and you will get a chance to use most clubs in your bag. I would not recomend for high handicappers. But mid to low handicappers will find the course fun and chellanging.
Uh, Yes you should play here!
I really like this course because of everything. The price from golf now is great. The course is not easy, and not too long or short, but a challenge at just the right distance ( for me anyway ). The greens were recieving maintenance this time, but I know from past experience that they are a tad slow but still really close to great. The only issue here, and always has been, is the tee boxes. And it seems to be getting worse but if you are going to have a bad spot then tee boxes are a better sacrifice than greens and fairways, I would think. So overall it is one of my favorite courses in that area, so, uh, yes you should play here.
the course is in excellent condition
Very few players around 11am tee time-we moved very quickly until we caught a fivesome at #11-they let us play thru and we finished in under 3 hours-greems are good-good value
