Bartow Golf Course

About
Bartow Golf Course is a municipal course that offers an affordable yet challenging round. The course has a classic design with an interesting mix of holes that range from being wide open to narrow and tree lined. The postage-stamp-sized greens demand accuracy and there are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. Build up your score on the front nine before tackling the tougher back nine. The golf course has enough challenges to keep more advanced players satisfied but it's forgiving enough to appeal to beginners as well. One of the most memorable holes is the par-3 13th. There is a tree that stands right in the middle of the fairway, forcing you to either go over or try to get around and risk going in the sand trap.

Fun Course
This is an "Old Florida" course (flat as a pancake with lots of big old oak trees.) The greens are in good condition and were very fast. The fairways are in good shape also.
Nice tract bad score
The course was considered by our whole group to be in the best shape we have ever seen it
Nice place to play
Only thing to complain about is some of the fairway conditions and the driving range location. Had to dodge some balls from the range but overall the course is a fun place to play and enjoy.
First time playing
Very good course for the money. Greens were true and very well kept. Roughs could have been a little shorter to help locate balls but with the rainy weather in summertime Florida that is to be expected. I will play there again.
Only holes 5-13 available for play. Had to play twice for full round. Wasn’t mentioned when I booked the t time.
Sewage
Well was an OK track but only shot 12 0f 18 kept skipping holes to avoid a greens keeper who kept turning on sprinklers that smelled of sewage as we were in play even hit me with them in a fairway at one point. once we seen the guy turning them on he went to clubhouse and stopped. I will never play here again as i don't pay to have games played with me. I pay to play a peaceful round of golf.
July 4th
Greens were recently aerated. Course reminded me of a nice course back in Indiana. Will definitely play again.
Average
Fairways were in bad shape, not mowed and lots of missing grass. Had teenagers on the course, group of six that were having fun and very beginner stage. Called club house to have ranger come out due to pace of play, was told they were to busy in the clubhouse. Was able to play thru on hole 6 and as driving out of course they were on hole 10.
Disappointing
Really like playing two different courses. The first 12 holes would qualify as cow pasture. The final 6 holes were very nice. Greens had been top dressed so difficult to rate. Overall they were small but receptive. Not worth the price when compared to others. On the positive note we stopped for lunch after the round and the food service and value were excellent!
Course is in Poor Condition
Course condition was poor. Tee boxes had little grass and the fairways had less. It was a chore to find some to place your ball on . The areas around the green had clumps of grass and dirt, making chipping next to impossible. The greens were fair, although coated with a fine layer of sand. We had a Golf Now Hot deal for $18 and that was too much to pay for this place. We left after 9 holes as that's all we could stomach.
Save your money and play places like River Green, Lake Wales Country Club, or Sun N Lake.
Weekend Golf
Greens are in excellent shape. The rest of the course is looking a little rough. Was surprised by the tee box and fairway conditions. I feel they were in better shape a few months back. Overall good day in the course. Pace of play was good. Food in the reastuant is reasonably priced and pretty good.
Good time!
Fun, competitive, wide open, smooth play, pleasent staff, tasty chow. Good value. I/We will replay!
3 10 19
Busy day. Single jojned up with a friendly threesome. Greens were good. Fairways only fair, lots of divots/bare areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pace of play was average on the front. But a fivesome that had stopped for drinks jumped in front of us on the back. Playing a 3/2 scramble of some sort. Hitting extra balls, etc. We waited in every shot on the back. They didn't care that they were holding us up. Never saw Marshall. Unlikely to play again until the snowbirds go home.
Greens-B. Fairways-B Layout-C
Great value. Very puttable greens. Easy, simple, short layout.
Great value
It’s winter, so don’t expect everything to be pristine. The tee boxes were okay and the fairways were reasonable (winter!). We thought the greens were terrific ... fairly firm, quick and true ... the best greens we’ve played in the area this season. Pace was a wee bit slow, but on such a beautiful day we really didn’t care. We will definitely play again at its reasonable pricing.
