Moyola Park Golf Club

I played here as a junior and it was good to come back and play again. On check in at the pro shop we were alerted that there was an inter-club match immediately after our tee time (always happy to let these matches play through) Glad to say the course was in excellent condition and noted a number of improvements from last time i’ve played. Pace of play was good and we promptly let 2 of the club match groups through on the 6th and 7th hole. Unfortunately at the River hole (8th), after a solid drive and an approach shot to within 10 feet (first time for everything), we were whistled at by an official from the last remaining match group behind and instructed to clear off the green. (Another first time experience) …i’ve never been whistled at on a golf course before to move, especially as a paying visitor!! Par was eventually had and we moved on. Overall very impressed by the course and glad to see the improvements.

Great layout of holes but poorly maintained, second cut ankle deep and greens quite bumpy.

Lovely course and great staff at pro shop and bar / restaurant.

Greens were a bit bumpy and slow but apart from that a good test of golf with some unusually quirky holes.

But disappointed with a few temporary greens in place but always love playing this course and considering the heavy rain recently it was in fantastic condition.

Course in good condition but greens are being worked on so I’d give it a miss for now..staff told us just before tee off that all 18 greens are being worked on..made the best of it but hard to get club choice correct with temporary greens

Got to the course to find temporary greens in operation, no mention of this when booking.

Normally this course is top class, but ive no idea what has happened, played today and it had temporary greens on 3 4 & 6, but apart from that every green & tee box was really poor, will not be back for a year at least, thats how long it will take to fix..... 2 out of 10

Great well designed course, the first looks simple but of the back sticks its a tough drive between the trees.

2nd is one of the toughest par 4 holes in the country the green is well protected by the slope of the left and the trees 75yds from the green.

8th and 17th make great use of the Moyola River, be careful all around the course as it has the ability to turn and reasonably good drive into a double having done very little wrong.

The Greens are very good it was quite wet but they have put a lot of drainage in and its a lot better. (9th and 15th still need a bit of work)

Beautiful course, fairly forgiving fairways but a few tricky approach shots. In good nick for the time of year
