A tournament-caliber parkland in Northern Ireland
I played Galgorm as it prepared to host its second DP World Tour event that caters to both male and female players. Fresh off an Irish Open as well, this is a tournament ready parkland that's still very enjoyable to play for any handicap. I shot my best round of the week here. There's loads of water so choose your targets wisely. The snack shack is an ancestral home of the original family that occupied the land, so that's a cool touch. The resort itself is excellent. This is definitely a worthy stop next time you're touring the famous links in Northern Ireland. Pamper yourself at the resort and savor a parkland experience with a little less wind and weather. It will recharge your batteries.
Really nice parkland course.
This is my second time playing here (although the first was in winter and was on temps due to frost). Have to say I wasn't disappointed on my return. Practice facilities are very good and staff in the pro shop friendly.
The course was in good condition with greens running well and I'm sure they will get better still through the season.
I honestly struggled to pick a weak hole on the course and enjoyed it right up until the last shot.
I look forward to returning next time I'm in Northern Ireland.
Brilliant course
Had a great game at this course very challenging if you get out of position but keep it straight and get a good score. Greens are fast :-).
Pro shop staff very rude
Arrived about 2 hrs before my tee time an went to range to warm up an was told there were no balls left in machine and it would be over an hr before machine would go out to get more, there was only one other person range an he said he'd be happy to wait a few minutes for them to fill machine again an we were both told to mind our own business an that he would go when it suited him, there was about 200 balls lying about 20 feet away an I suggested they could grab 30 or 40 an I would pay for them lad mumbled under his breath for me to f off an let him know that I heard him, he then went into shop an him an another lad behind the counter came out with 2 clubs an hit the balls out about another 50 60 yards which I thought was a bit childish I waited for them come back into shop an checked in for my tee time an went to putting green instead the 2 fellas I was to play with were told go on 10 15 minutes earlier as there was no one in front off us this resulted in me coming to tee box an been left on my own I tee'd off an eventually caught them at the 3rd fairway was not happy about this as you's can amagine spoiled a day's golfing didn't enjoy it after a few holes as I was in a bit off a rage as to how I was treated will be in no rush back because if I ran into the.same to lads I'd probably pull the head off them.
A fun challenge
Great mix of pars and challenges thrown into this course. Excellent scenery to play in and around.

We are glad you enjoyed the course and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
Fairways like carpet, greens like snooker tables!
4 days after the Irish Open and played the Sunday pin positions with about 11 on the stimp! Played off the whites, not the blues, but the option was there. Nice touch to allow guests to play those tees if they wished but with a 260 carry over water on the 10th to make the fairway, we passed!!. Course not surprisingly still immaculate! Please try and keep up this standard; truly awesome! Well done the green-keepers. A beautiful parkland championship course in equally beautiful condition.

We are glad you enjoyed the course and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Poor greens and pace of play
Have to say I was really looking forward to playing this course having heard so many good reports and with it having the prestige of holding the NI Open but was really disappointed.
Teeing off behind a two ball, then we were pushed and pushed by a two ball behind us whom definitely had not adhered to the 10 minute rule of play. We had to let them through against GUI guidelines for covid otherwise our game would severely have been hampered. The greens were horrendous , completely sanded which I found abnormal for a summer season. We then had another two ball pushing us and felt that the pace of play was very, very rushed. Definitely did not enjoy my experience today and if not for the discounted Golf Now green fee, I would have been completely annoyed paying full rate at £70 plus a round. The condition of the greens were not to a good standard I am afraid and being pushed by people behind was not enjoyable .

Thank you for review and we are sorry your experience of Galgorm Castle was not what we hoped it would have been.
We are sorry to hear you were rushed on the golf course. It was a good decision to let the group behind through and not against GUI guidelines, but if you visit again in the future, which we hope you will then please report any poor etiquette or behaviour to the Pro Shop and it will be dealt with appropriately.
Regular light topdressing in summer is normal practice to maintain greens to a high standard. While we value your feedback and are disappointed that your experience was not what we hope for all guests, we must also share that we had a full timesheet yesterday (2nd July) and did not receive any negative feedback on the putting surfaces.
We do hope this does not deter you from visiting again in the future and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy a true 'Galgorm' experience.
Please feel free to contact us directly via golf@galgormcastle.com should you wish to discuss your experience in more detail.
We hope you have an enjoyable summer of golf.
Kind regards

Championship quality but enjoyable play
Played this course for the first time yesterday with the Department of finance golf society (civil service). Everyone loved the course it was a great day! The layout of the course was superb and the greens were excellent - for a championship course off the green tees there was a good mix of hole lengths as well it wasn’t all just ridiculously long par 4’s but a good mix of different tests with challenging rough/bunkers/water to contend with along the way even on the more reachable holes. Loved opportunity for a hot dog/beer/soft drink at the quirky bar after the 9th hole. The food at the restaurant after was also top quality. Will be keen to revisit this course ASAP.
Enjoyed playing Galgorm Castle. A challenging course but is rewarding if you hit to the right places. Course is always kept in good condition, greens had a bit of maintenance work carried out, as the course prepares to host the NI Open next month. Defintetly worth playing here, freindly and helpful staff, and excellent value for money.
Great to hear you enjoyed your game!
Kind regards
