Great views

Views around the course are spectacular but the course isn't in great condition. For a seaside course it was very muddy even for January

Plus be aware that 4 of the holes are closed and the first green is temporary, golfnow doesn't tell you we only found out when me arrived.

Great course

Brilliant course, a real challenge & beautiful scenery. Only downside was the brutal pace of play by 4-5 groups in front. Otherwise amazing

Challenging links!

Gem of a links course. We played it on a windy day in late Oct. and had to play a driver into 3 of the 4 par 3's. Beautiful fairways, bunkers and greens. No wet ground in sight despite days of rain. The front rain is more challenging than the back but it's all challenging when the wind blows. And what a clubhouse!

Friendly members and staff topped off a great golfing day out.

If something is too good to be true...

Played here a few years back and enjoyed it's Links character. However upon arriving today we were informed that 6 holes were closed and temporary holes and greens were in play. I would have not made the trip if I had known this prior. On top of this it was a total lottery for visitors to navigate their way around due to the huge restrictions on the layout. Three young fellas in the Pro Shop literally couldn't care less when we confirmed our booking. I'm actually really angry how this turned out today and my opinion of the course has been forever altered. I don't understand why Golfnow can't give customers a heads up before you book instead of showing up to that sort of mess. I couldn't believe the condition of the course for a links given their propensity for being dry. My Advice to anybody looking to play here in the foreseeable future, call in advance to ask about the state of place.

Short, Pretty, but Also Tricky

When I saw the reviews on this on GolfAdvisor, I knew this is a must play if anybody likes links golf. The views of this golf course are stunning! The greens fees are reasonable for a links course. However, 50 pounds to hire golf clubs is steep (which is why I only put value for the money at 4 stars). If I were to hire a buggy, that would be another 50 pounds. So, this is also too steep, too!

Meanwhile, I did not know there are no Uber services from the golf course. Fortunately, there was a fellow player who drove me to the bus station so that I can get back to Belfast.

That said... I enjoyed the experience. I had some decent holes and some terrible holes... which is expected for me in links golf.

Buggy Hire is £30 not £50 as stated. Check out the web site.

Must playy

We played in June, 50 degrees with 25 mph winds. This was true Irish golf. Well worth it if you want the Ireland golf experience.

The most pleasant, dramatic, flat-out fun surprise

At 6200 yards, it's not going to find its way into The Open rota. And it doesn't have the name-recognition of other buddies-trip must-plays ... and that's what Ardglass really has going for it. You just can't believe how good it is once you get there. Two holes in, and you're thinking, "Why the heck aren't more people talking about this golf course?!" The pictures attached to this review will say as much as I ever could. Ardglass has more character than other courses with larger reputations, and it's way more fun to play. I stopped here in between rounds at Royal County Down and Royal Portrush, and it was the perfect bridge. Those are challenging, championship-worthy tests. Ardglass is just freaking fun. With a five-year plan in place for improvements to the golf course, it's only going to get better.

OH MY GOD!

What a course! Absolutely amazing from start to finish. The views are spectacular, and I believe you can see the coast from every tee and green - truly a wonder to be hold!

Some very daunting holes, including the first and the par 3 second. We had to contend with the wind which made it very interesting. Very scorable course that is full of challenge, and stunning views.

Staff were very friendly and the meal afterwards was very tasty. The clubhouse is steeped in history so definitely check it out.

An absolute gem that I cannot wait to play again!

Simply put: Ardglass is a joy to play

You'd be hard pressed to find a more fun course in Northern Ireland. From the first tee in front of the old castle clubhouse with the Irish Sea on the left to the 18th and the views and variety of holes in between, Ardglass is a roller coaster of fun and beauty that's difficult to match. The most difficult shot on the course very well could be the first one -- the tee shot up the hill to set up an approach to a small green perched up on a plateau. But by in large, this 120-plus year-old course is playable from beginning to end. After your round, you'll want to visit the 600-year-old castle clubhouse, which has an outstanding golf shop and restaurant and pub.

Windy but worth it

Played this course four years ago on a sunny day with moderate wind. Enjoyed it then, and enjoyed it this time even though the wind was probably a three club wind when we finished. The dry weather had the fairways pretty firm and a little sparse in parts, but the greens were excellent. The views are spectacular. Wonderful clubhouse with the restaurant upstairs. Be sure to have lunch or stay for dinner if you were finishing late. Staff couldn’t be nicer.

Always A Pleasure

We played this course 4 years ago on a trip to Northern Ireland. We love it and knew it was a hidden gem, then at 25 GBP. It's been discovered! It's a challenging links course that has dramatic views of the coast. The holes are fair. The course is in great condition. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The club restaurant is reasonable, with a good variety of items, and delicious. My favorite.
