Carnalea Golf Club

The golf now app is a must and very easy to use.

Very thing went very well and we had a great round of golf. The course is in excellent condition especially the greens. Congratulations to the greenkeeper.

Have played Carnalea a number of times now condition of the course is great and the greens are always in A1 condition , not a overly long course which may suit some fairways are quite wide and and very forgiving so suits the high handicappers like myself , clubhouse is also excellent nice food with superb views of the Belfast lough , if you haven't played here before definitely worth a visit usually great value too .

We played this course today and i must say i was surprised how good the conditions where for this time of year only one temporay green looking forward playing there next weekend great value for money booked on teeoff times

The good points :-

Although only a par 69 & just about 6K yds, most holes are sufficiently interesting and with hazards or features that concentrate the mind. The layout is good even though there is a bit of a trek between the 9th &10th, with the short par 3 9th probably being the feature hole, and there are very scenic views of Belfast Lough, the South Antrim coast and passing shipping traffic to be had from most parts of the course.

The not-so-good points :-

{Bearing in mind the time of year} Much work going on around the course with sand being spread over much of the fairways leading to an unusual practice of either placing a small plastic mat to play off or moving the ball to edge of the fairway for semi-rough placing. Greens had been recently hollow-tined plus sanded and were consequently quite slow and bobbly and there were winter mats on all tees plus a VERY poor temporary green on the 18th. One all-year-round criticism would be that there are a lot of blind tee shots with no pictorial view availability for guidance, plus hole signage could do with being improved.

One thing to note too, is that parking is limited at the clubhouse, but it IS possible to travel by train & the station is only 100M or so away, with the track bisecting the course - hence the walk from 9th green to 10th tee.

course was in a very wet poor state . no signs for tee positions which made it like a treasure hunt . but to be fair in summer time would b a very nice course and pleasure to play views r amazing

Even though there was a Large Society in front the staff accommodated us best they could to meet our booked T Time.

Very impressed. Course in great condition, views amazing. Very hilly would not recommend carrying clubs. Will definitely be back.

The booking on the Last minute golfer was so easy and then the course and day were excellent , so overall I will look forward to using the site again and excellent value for money

Lovely challenging course. The course is in lovely location with distracting views.;-). Absolute joy to play

We played on a very windy day but thoroughly enjoyed our game. It is not a long course and so is friendly for us older golfers. The views on the front nine are spectacular.

This was the first time using golfnow combined with Carnalea. The process was effortless, the pro in the shop was well aware of the booking made through golfnow, the process and experience all worth while.

The day in which we played had fairly high wind speeds, this added to the difficulty of the course since the front 9 is exposed to the elements, while the back 9 is sheltered.

Spectacular views and a great golfing experience, would highly recommend this course to anyone thinking about booking a tee slot, you will not be disappointed.

First time using golf now and thought everything went very smoothly.Course must have had Captains Day recently and was in great condition,played Carnalea many times and have always enjoyed playing the course

Excellent value for money. Postcard setting. Very well maintained course. Some really nice challenging holes. Brought to new guys to the course who can't wait to play it again.
