Eagle Landing Golf Club
About
The 7,037 yard Clyde Johnston design at Eagle Landing weaves through the Florida landscape and takes on a vintage feel as he incorporates several of the classic design holes from around the world into the par-72 layout.
"My goal, says Johnston is to intersperse classic holes such as the Redan Hole, the Eden, and the Cardinal into the routing in order to lend a sense of purity to the golf experience at Eagle Landing. Those individual designs are so technically and aesthetically complete that they can truly elevate a golfing experience."
Johnston's philosophy in designing a Club course remains the same as his other courses; begin each nine relatively easy and progressively get harder. The Eagle Landing course offers six sets of tees, from championship to youth tees, allowing the course to play as easy or as difficult as desired. Johnston's previous designs in northeast Florida include Eagle Harbor Golf Club, St. Johns Golf & Country Club, and Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.
Eagle Landing also offers a magnificent golf clubhouse with sports bar, fully-stocked pro shop, his and her locker rooms, and an elegant restaurant overlooking sparkling water and lush fairways. The staff of PGA professionals will coordinate a host of exciting tournaments and events on the course and in the clubhouse.

Can't beat this deal
Wonderful golf course. Very playable even on scattered shots. Then a free hamburger and 2 beers or a soft drink. Don't know how they provide this value for a very low price.
If you are playing course for first time , you will need a rangefinder or GPS watch. Suggest you move up one tee box the first time. Will be more enjoyable.
Always Windy
This course appears to always be windy. It may be due to the location geographically, but this course is always pushing 15+ wind around on the course.
Gorgeous day outside, about 75º and sunny. Course is in great shape. Great fairways, solid greens and every teebox is spectacular.
They ran out of carts when we got there at 12:30 for a 1pm tee-time. We had to wait until 1:15 for a cart to become available. They told us this was normal for a Saturday and new carts had been ordered and were arriving in a few days, out cart also died on the 18th hole.
All in all this course is very well maintained and fun to play but the wind is always blowing hard in various directions.
Thank you for once again playing Eagles Landing. We have a love/hate relationship with our wind! We appreciate the feedback and thank you for being patient about our cart situation.
Puzzling
I liked playing the course I am just confused if your going to give a military discount and only give $0.75 this is an insult you shouldn't even offer a discount. The course is a good course but please don't insult the military with a 75 cent discount had I know this I would not have booked it using a military rate.
Thank you
Lack of Golf Carts
our group went off 30 mins late because of a lack of Golf Carts.
Thank you for the feedback! We have more carts now!
very windy
nice course with some challenging holes. greens were in great shape. what I like is that the rangers keep the pace of play going. our foursome completed 18 in 4 hours despite very windy conditions.
loved course keeping the pace of play to 4 or less hours!!!!! other courses should follow their example!!!
Thank you for playing at Eagles Landing and thank you for acknowledging the Rangers for doing a not so easy job! We appreciate you staying positive in the windy conditions!
Better than Expected, I was scared!!!
After reading other reviews on this site, I was scared to play here. My game is off, this is a difficult course, and others complained about the Rangers and staff. Fears completely unjustified. Course was in great shape, although my game wasn't. However, staff and rangers couldn't have been nicer. We were politely told when we were behind and how to catch up. Customer service was fantastic from the Shop to the course. Practice facilities are top notch. I would compare this course to Queens Harbor, but at half the price. If you want a great golf experience, PLAY THIS COURSE.
THANK YOU!! We genuinely appreciate this positive feedback. Hope to see you back real soon!
Terrific round in the dundhine
Played this course on Wednesday in the rain returned on Friday for a sunny round greeted by Friendly staff and the great course conditions wet or dry played better by 8 strokes in the sunshine
Thank you for the positive feedback. Thank you for being a sport about the rain!
Personal Favorite for Jacksonville Area
I would love to get on here and badmouth Eagle Landing so people stay away from it, but i cannot in good conscious do that.
To keep it short and sweet, the greens are always money, the layout is an awesome combination of tree lined and open fairways, enough water to keep you honest and a couple of the more challenging par 3's in the area. If there's one knock on the place it's that it's not such a hidden gem anymore and some people don't observe ready golf and play through rules, but that's inevitable and uncontrollable.
The entire staff from the maintenance and outside operations to the clubhouse and pro shop are on point and awesome to deal with when it comes to delivering a top notch golfing experience.
I always enjoy my round there , despite what kinda score I shoot, but please for my sake stay away from it!
Thanks for the 5 star review!
Three strikes, you're out!!!
Eagle Landing is a serviceable golf course, always in decent shape.
Our group, on any given Saturday, has up to 8 foursomes. We play most of the courses in the area: Eagle Harbor, Fleming Island, Cimarrone, South Hampton, Hidden Hills, Windsor Parke etc. They are happy to have us as we always take care of the cart girl and spend a lot of $$$ in the restaurant.
None of them treat us with this kind of disrespect.
Before we teed off the head pro was literally screaming at us to get on the first tee, as unbeknownst to us, they moved up our tee-time. Then he threaten us that if we did not take the on-course ranger seriously he would personally throw us off the course. This is before we teed off!!!
For the first 3 holes I was so upset, I don't recall them...
Every time I saw Ranger Rick I literally checked our time so I could ward off any confrontation. We came in right on time, but had to rush shots and continually had to play when ready…so much for a relaxing round of golf.
I realize that speed of play is important but this place takes it to a whole new level with printed time cards in the cart a manacle rangers.
There are far too many great customer friendly options.
Avoid this place unless you want to be treated like a 2nd class citizen.
jmburnsfl2013,
Thank you all for coming and playing at Eagle Landing. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, and sincerely apologize for the negative experience you have had. As much as we want good pace of play here, we would never want it to come at the expense of the golf experience. We would like to speak with you about your experience but unfortunately do not have contact information for you. If it's not too much trouble, could you please call the Pro Shop at (904) 291-5600 and ask for the General Manager, he will be expecting your call. Thank you again for your feedback.
5 Stars not enough
For the $20 I paid thru GolfNow, this course is about an 8 Star value!
Thanks tomrayzorback!
Last Time
This is a great course for the value of lunch and green/cart fees. The thing that drives me nuts about this course is the rangers. There was nobody in front or behind us but the ranger said we were a hole and a half behind. That was aggravating to my entire group. Even though they have a great value it's not worth the hassle especially when I have to pass 4-5 courses to get to this one. So this will be my last time playing this course!
mixjabs,
Thank you for coming and playing at Eagle Landing, we appreciate you making the drive. We are very sorry your experience with the Ranger was unpleasant, we will be addressing this. The Rangers are there to help with the golf experience, not hinder it. Thank you again for playing at Eagle Landing.
Amazing course...... but
I've played here many times & the course is always in phenomenal shape, but I will never play there on Fri-Sun again. At least 4 or 5 times my 4 some was harassed about "slow play" despite having let a 3 some play through & having maintained a 1 1/2 hole distance between us & the group behind us. We were even threatened that if we didn't catch the 3 some in front of us (keep in mind we're a 4 some) that they would force us to move up a hole. For the record, if you include our 20 minute stop at the turn because their staff took forever to get us 3 drinks, we finished in 4:35 minutes.
Thank you for letting us know about your experience out at the course. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make it up to you.
Wonderful golf course. I would recommend to anyone..
We appreciate you coming out and playing with us and for the great review!
Very good course
Nice fun layout. Greens roll very nice. Do yourself a favor and play this course.
Thank you for the 5 Stars Damian! Hope to have you back soon!
Great Course For a Great price
I just moved to the area a couple months ago and have been trying out a few courses. By far my favorite I've played so far. The course was in great shape from tee to green. The greens were PRISTINE, some of the best I've ever putted on. Really enjoyed how smooth they rolled and the speed was great. The course has a fun layout in my opinion. I've seen some people complain about the pace of play, mine was pretty slow but that's because it was Saturday afternoon on a nice course and it was a nice day. To be expected.
We are very happy to see that we are your favorite course that you have played on thus far! Thank you for coming to play with us and for leaving feedback on your experience! We do apologize for the slow pace of play, and hope it did not ruin your time at Eagle Landing!
Fast
Nice course for the GOLFNOW price. Pace of play is monitored like a hawk, from the time card in your cart to the Marshall getting on you consistently. If you in a group of average golfers and run into "trouble" on a hole or two you are behind the time card. Got annoying and think we played worse while trying to make up time. Never played with timecard in my cart.
Overall good course, open good driving course. If you like fast pace of play, and never have a rough hole or two this is your course.
Thank you for the 4 Stars and for coming out to play at Eagle Landing!
Always in good condition
Eagle Landing is always well maintained. Glad to see most bunkers were somewhat maintained this time. Usually bunkers not raked by the staff
Thank you for the 4 Stars and for leaving feedback on the course!
Another very pleasant visit
Course was in very good shape, greens rolled well
Staff on and off the course were friendly and helpful as always and the free lunch was excellent!
So happy to hear that our staff was friendly and that you found the course to be in great shape. We appreciate the 5 Stars and hope to have you back soon!
