About
Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Cart malfunction
From the first tee through 9 holes, gps was not functioning on cart #14.
Callahans has improved greatly
Course condition was really good, and the greens were fantastic, other than some new players not understanding how to repair ball marks. New golf carts with gps. Course is moving on up
Wet and car path only
Not a bad day on the golf course even though it poured down rain for about 20 minutes. The pace of play was good and the greens were soft but rolled pretty consistently. New golf carts with GPS are great but don’t help a lot when it’s car path only.Glad to see they got rid of the red and black checkered pin flags.Might be nice if the starter let golfers know to sign for carts and let people know who is next on the tee.

Greens were in great shape, overall course was in best shape I’ve seen. Other than soggy from all the rain which they can’t control, it was enjoyable to play
Well....
Should've taken a picture of the "small" basket of range balls. What a motley assortment of a dozen or so beat-up old golf balls for $5.00. Putting green was closed. No idea why. It looked fine. The course was wet from recent rains but in fairly good condition otherwise. Some oddities like the #6 tee box not being level. Maybe that's not unheard of but I found it odd. Usually, you think of the tee area as not presenting additional challenges like an uphill lie. In summary this course is still a good value, and I'll play here again.
Saturday golf at Calkahans
Been playing here for a few years. Owners are investing in course maintenance and it really shows. Greens were in great condition, best fairways around, some tee complexes struggled due to shade, but overall was in great condition. New carts with GPS was a pleasant surprise.
Very slow
Course is nice and well taken care of and the staff is friendly. Pace of play here is simply awful. There are no marshals and you will have to wait at every tee box. Prepare for a 4-6 hour round.
