About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

One of the best practice facilities in Arizona. The greens are well manicured and fast! Very forgiving course for kids just starting out.
Bad price
For 125.00 and location cart path only due to poor drainage should knock off 75.00 at least and don’t be so greedy for the money can play a lot of Troon courses cheaper
Greens were very pure! Fairways were green and plush!
PBGC is looking GOOD!
Overseed is complete AND the course is in great shape! Fairways cut and greens rolled and fast. Enjoyed our round with 2 new friends AND my wife came within 12" of a ace on #17 Island green from the green tees! Staff is always friendly!
still on cart path?
great course, been playing it all summer long. all other courses have done the re-seeding and are off cart path but not Poston. I have no problem with that, the problem is that they schedule times as if they were off of cart path and the pace is terrible. waiting on every hole for several groups is not a good way to play. 2 hours and 40 minutes before we tees off on the 10th, enroute to a 5.5 hr round. regretting paying $80 for 9 holes.
Good course no marshalling
While we did enjoy the course and conditions, the pace was brutally slow particularly the last 10-11 holes. We heard from the twosome behind us that there was a tourney two groups ahead of us. We didn't see a Marshall even once during the round which potentially could've tried to hustle up the groups ahead.
5 hour round No Marshall to move things along. Tee boxes poor-average Not worth the money
