About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

still on cart path?
great course, been playing it all summer long. all other courses have done the re-seeding and are off cart path but not Poston. I have no problem with that, the problem is that they schedule times as if they were off of cart path and the pace is terrible. waiting on every hole for several groups is not a good way to play. 2 hours and 40 minutes before we tees off on the 10th, enroute to a 5.5 hr round. regretting paying $80 for 9 holes.
Good course no marshalling
While we did enjoy the course and conditions, the pace was brutally slow particularly the last 10-11 holes. We heard from the twosome behind us that there was a tourney two groups ahead of us. We didn't see a Marshall even once during the round which potentially could've tried to hustle up the groups ahead.
5 hour round No Marshall to move things along. Tee boxes poor-average Not worth the money
Great course but...
Inside staff were awesome.
Course itself great, well groomed
But pace of play was horrible. It should not take 5 hours for a round of golf IMO.
Practice facilities great as well. Restaurant was also good, thankfully we had a bite before we played!
Impeccable
Everything was great. Wide fairways. Greens in good condition. Cart parh only is the only thing that borders.
Will play again
I was have a good time at Poston Butte!
Course is in really good condition considering that all the other courses in Phoenix are coming out of there over seed.
Unprofessional
They didn’t post on their website it was cart path only. I drove an hour to play this course. I wanted to have a relaxing day of golf after a difficult work week. Those in charge here need to think more professional and stop trying to grab every dollar out there. Doubt I’ll play this course again.
