Nice Track for a short course. Very interesting hole make this a nice layout. Enjoyed it very much.
Huge Improvements
The last time I played Casselberry it was a dog track. Today was the best condition I've ever seen the course. The tee boxes, fringes and greens are excellent. Greens are a bit slow, but had few if any bad patches. The course routing is odd, but fun and often tight. If you are wild off the tee, bring plenty of balls. Keep in mind it is a par 69, so the 5100 yard tips might sound short but they play more like 5,600 (there are some longer par4s and par 3s). The first four holes have the most water problems, but after that it all opens up. Enjoy the round!
Best condition this course has ever been in
I grew up in Casselberry playing this course regularly. Historically this course was pretty rough. Gigantic dead spots on the green and muddy and/or rock hard fairways.
Right now this course is in some of the best condition out of all the courses in the area. While every other course is rock hard because of no rain, Casselberry is lush right now. Greens are in great shape (besides some ball marks) and they’re medium speed.
I don’t know if it will always be in this good of shape, but I’d definitely recommend playing it right now.
A Hidden Gem, Well Worth It
My wife and I played this course. I wasn't expecting much for the $25 tee time. I was so wrong. What a little gem of a course! Course conditions were fantastic! Tee boxes and greens are LUSH. Kudos to whoever keeps this place looking green. I've been to several other courses in the area and none compare to the conditions (at this price).
The layout is tricky too - it's a "shotmakers" course. It's not long, that's for sure, but you have to place your tee shot in specific places. I lost a couple of golf balls, which I don't do often. Also, the greens are small so it's important to be accurate.
I highly recommend it. I will be back to play very soon!
Great value
Great course for the price. I always enjoy my rounds here. Friendly staff and course is kept in great condition. Pace of play was good too.
Casselberry Hack
Great setup once you get past the first 5 holes. Enjoyed myself w/ playing partners. Will play again. Too bad these courses don't give fl residents a break..... "SNOW BIRDS"
Best Value Course!
For the price you pay, it’s an extremely amazing value and the greens are absolutely worth every penny. Tee boxes are a solid B+ and the privacy they give you to golf is crucial. Trust your golfers and they’ll take care of your course.
Tees mg greens
All the greens and most of the tee boxes were in great shape. They spend their time making sure these are in great shape. Fairways are rough.
Public Course, But Tees and Greens Will Shame Most Country Clubs
I played this course this past Monday, 2/22 but I also played in a monthly scramble there on 2/06 and I feel I need to comment on the course The greens and the teeing areas are in GREAT condition, almost lush. The tees are grassy as are the greens. No bare or crusty spots anywhere on any green and the only complaint I might voice is that some players do not fix their ball marks: be prepared to fix yours and 2 or 3 others. The greens roll true; they are fast but not obnoxiously so. Whoever is maintaining this course should be given a medal and a raise in salary as 15 years ago, calling this course a "cow pasture" would have been a charitable description. Casselberry is a most pleasant golfing experience now. Yes, there are some low areas that can get muddy after a heavy rain but this is well worth the price for green fees, (Let me note that I played free due to some free rounds my son and I won back on 2/06 so that explains my green fee being $0.00, This is attributable to my son's golfing skills more than mine.)
IMNSHO, both Wekiva and Rio Pinar (both CCs and higher $ green fees) should consult on how to keep a course green with whomever is maintaining Casselberry as the fine condition of this course puts both of those to shame.
And, let me also note, the staff is extremely friendly and the hot dogs are 5 star. It was a great day and a great time.
No amenities, but good value
Fairways weren't in great shape, but greens were very well maintained. Good value if you're not looking for amenities or great views.
Decent course
Even though it’s a low price, this place really is pretty good. Driving range was in good shape. The course was in decent shape, granted it did rain a bit this past week but the front 9 especially the first hole is kinda a mud trap but it definitely dries up by the back nine. But the fairways were nice and green, rough was nice, greens were nice but very slow. Layout is nothing special but it’s not easy just short, a lot of water on this course so accuracy is key but there are plenty of drivable 250-280 yard par 4’s. I definitely prefer a few other courses in the Orlando area but they also aren’t $41 bucks on a Sunday morning.
Course was in the best shape I've ever seen it.
Better grass on tees,. approaches, and greens that
I've seen all winter. Nice improvements.
The course was in terrible condition.
First of all the carts were very slow and the cart brake didn't work. Got to the first tee and someone was there waiting to tee off. We had to wait at least 15 minutes for someone to come out with a cart since the group in the fairway had a cart that broke down. The course was not busy and we waited on every shot. Course conditions were very poor and the greens were extremely slow. I would not recommend this course.
Expensive
I like the layout and it’s in good shape but it cost me 42 bucks and that’s a bit too much.
Enjoyable course
Will be back. Very well manicured greens and good overall course conditions considering the cold snaps we had this winter.
