Needs Work
The greens have large barren spots, the tee boxes are under construction, the fairways have little grass - mostly uneven weeds. Basically unplayable. Please get this place fixed.
Rough, and I don't mean the grass
The course is in rough shape, lots of sand and puddles throughout the 'fairways' and the greens are atrocious. You could get better lies in a neighborhood.
For $10-$15 you can't ask for much though, and the staff is friendly and course is usually not busy. You get what you pay for, and a quick after work round is fine.
Older course but challenging
I learned how to play golf at Casselberry. It's not a great course but it affordable and provides many challenges. Pretty short from the far box. I still love playing a few times a year because of the difficulty. The greens could be better but you can see they are working on getting the tee boxes up to par.
Saturday
Never played this course before but it turned out to be really great! I'm not the best golfer in the world and its perfect for my playing abilities right now. Good mix of short and long (medium) well medium to better players. Some greens were about rough and patchy but it happens. Had a great game with a friend of mine and we were able to finish 18 in about 3 hours, even with taking our time and hitting multiple balls! 10/10 would play again
Still Recovering
Course is still in the same shape it's been in over the past 3 years I've played. Sandy greens, patchy fairways, overgrown areas.
Can't really complain though, since I only paid $10 on golfnow
Could be Better
I really have nothing bad to say but CB (Cassleberry) could be a much better place to play. The problem with CB is the pace of play seems to get worse each weekend. I see the Ranger on the first hole and I never see him again. Someone needs to take a proactive approach to speed up the pace of play. Secondly, this golf course needs to have portable restrooms on the course. I'm sorry but the clubhouse restroom is not enough for 18 holes. I think CB has turned the corner in many ways but it could be better.
Not worth the price
First of all, you find out the greens were ariated when you get to the first hole. They don't tell you upfront. Horrible.
Second, you finish the round and go in for a beer and they want $12.50 for a pitcher of beer, you pay that amount on a course close to Disney. Only course in the area that has that price.
The only thing that was acceptable were the fairways.
Too bad, I've been coming to this course for over 15 years. Not anymore
Players Assistant
Nice course, like the layout, only issue I had was to many single golfers, I finally hooked up 3 singles in front of me to try and eliminate some of wait time. Seen players Assist a few times but he didn't say anything to slower groups or the singles, people playing from Tips that had No business hitting from there, watched one group take like 8 strokes consistently on par 4's. Understand less experienced golfers, more strokes but play from where you should, asked a couple of groups if as as single I could play through, response was nobody's going anywhere so no, even though no golfers on next hole. That's when I joined the singles in front, player asst just rode right on by and never said a thing to them. I do like the course but if no attempt to control pace it's a long day.
Short ,tight, no space course.
This course is short, it has little to no space, you literally play in somebody's back yard on most holes or on the street. It feels like it was crammed into little space as an afterthought. The condition is fair and they seem active doing maintenance to keep it up. Very tight fairways, postage stamp greens (some in rough shape), if you cannot land your ball in a 20ft area you are in trouble.
Ok for a local course but I would not pay to play it as-is, there are much better courses out there.
Better than expected.
Greens where in great shape. Expected rough conditions after read other reviews but pleasantly surprised.
Fun - Short - Community Course
Don't expect a course in Great Shape but a fun, short course for working on your short game. Great Value for the golfer on a tight budget.
An Average City Owned Golf Course
This course is OK, it is pretty cheap to play so don't expect much. Lunch was terrible, they were out of most types of sodas and beer.
The course was poor
Course was in poor condition fairways wee poor greens slow layout all over the place. The pro shop guys were great professional no problem whatsoever
Best Conditions in a while. Continues to improve.
While the greens rolled slow they rolled true. The best conditions course wide that I've likely ever experienced at Casselberry. If new management continues trend of improvement, it will be hard to get a time in the future if they maintain the value.
Casselberry steps it up
I have been playing golf for two years. Casselberry was the first course I played. It has gone through a transformation since then. The new owners have put in the effort to make this course a hidden gem that continues to improve every time I play it.
Casselberry looking good
Hadn't played in a few years, but now looking much better with new management. Greens rolled and fast, tee boxes in good shape, paths all repaired, traps have new, nice turnaround.
Great
Great course, the staff very friendly.Would certainly recommend this course to my friends.
