The Club at Pelican Bay - North Course

Greens looked and rolled better then they have in a long time.

The course is in pretty decent shape. It’s not pristine by any stretch of the imagination but it does have great potential. Fairways have some crabgrass intermittently. A few greens have some bald spots, but it’s really decent. No problems with pace. I’ll play again shortly.

Course is in awful shape. 10/10 will not be going back

The greens here were in excellent condition but the fairways were a bit rough. There was NO drinking water on the course and this really is a must have in this summer heat. We enjoyed the course, however and would return.

You have to be able to take the heat of the summer in Florida, but this course allows you to work on your game without rushing. Mostly open fairways, but keep the ball in bounds to avoid woods and water.

First couple holes were a little rough but the rest of the course is beautiful.

For two 70 year old men. We were able to play 18 holes in 2:20 which is great. Staff was very friendly and attentive. This is best kept secret in DB.

Fun golf round. This course is well maintained. The clubhouse looks like they are in foreclosure but they are not. Beautiful course and pro shop. Almost no golfers on the course. Staff is courteous and polite. Play in the Florida daytime and beat the heat and afternoon rain.

I haven’t played at Pelican Bay in almost a year and things are not getting any better. Lots of weeds on tee boxes and fairways. The main part of the greens were in good shape but the fringes were spotty. I played at 1:30 and saw only one other player on the course so pace of play was great. I was able to work on my game without being worried about slow play. Since it’s only $30 it’s a good course for beginners or golfers who want to take their time or take several shots at a time.

Not sure how much longer they can survive with a lack of staff, poor playing conditions and lack of amenities. Hopefully they can it open because it’s a fun course to play.

As background I’m on vacation in Ormond Beach. and played the LPGA Hills course twice in the last 3 days. It cost me $85 each day for greens fees and a bucket of balls. Today I paid $38 all in for the same thing at Pelican Bay. My round Sunday at LPGA took 5 hours. Today at Pelican Bay I was alone. I really annoyed the course layout at Pelican Bay. There is water in every hole but each hole was very scenic and challenging while not being unfair. LPGA Hills has some holes the require you to hit at least 150 yards from the forward tees which I cannot always do. If you’re looking for a fun round at a nice golf course at a low price and no pressure to keep a pace or be slowed down you can’t go wrong with Pelican Bay. The course is not as manicured as LPGA but I don’t thing the conditions hurt my play at all.
