Course reviews
I booked this course online and then read the reviews after I booked it and there were a couple terrible reviews the last couple of weeks.. Instead of changing courses I stuck with it and was pleasantly surprised the course was in much better shape than the reviews indicated. It was not in great shape but they did not advertise it as being a premier course and in great shape. I have played in much worse courses. One of the other reviews complained about no cart paths in much of the area but that is the way the course is designed. I felt the greens rolled true and they enjoyed the round. Yes I would play this course again .
Rough Greens
The day we played, the greens were in bad shape. Hopefully those will improve.
First time play
At one time, I'm sure this was a nice course but it is really showing neglect. It looks like they have run out of funds for upkeep. The young staff made us feel really welcome but that did not overcome the course condition. The practice range was very nice but things ended there. The putting green barely had any grass on it with mold killing most in sight. Greens on the course wasn't much better. The whole course looks like it has not had any proper chemicals applied so native grasses and weeds have taken over. Cart paths are broken up or non existent. A sign says carts must be returned by 5:00 so late play is not possible. It was a poor experience on a layout that could really be nice if it was operated better.
Trajic
The staff were friendly and the layout is great.
The course conditions are awful.
Even with a $29 cart included "Hot Deal", we paid way too much for the experience.
Will never return.
Great course layout but in terrible condition.. Greens were terrible as we're the T Box's. Pushed my tee into dirt more often than grass.
Has potential to be a really good course but needs major attention.
Great Layout, Sad Conditions
Clearly, this course was a winner in its day. However, it seems there is no cash to keep it up to snuff. Fairways were rough and most greens were barren and wonky.
So sad.
Good way to start
We have been playing Pelican Bay (N) course to start our holiday for the last few years. What we like about Pelican Bay is the price, lots of tee times and generally the pace of play (3 1/2 hours).
What wee don't like is the condition of thee course from tee to green. This round was the worst we have seen it. Greens appear painted in areas that are mostly dead grass and there many many dead grass tee blocks.
The course layout deserves better maintenance. We never get bored playing the course, only wish they improved the condition a lot.
We won't give up on you yet!
So we will continue to play Pelican as our first round when we travel here. If not only because other courses look so much better after we do.
Last day
A little cold and windy. Plenty of water on the course, you have to keep your shots straight. Only a couple of greens in good shape, please work on them.
Wow
The tee boxes were awful all greens were awful but the staff was amazing. Restaurant closed down but not mentioned on web site. Pro shop was nice prices were good for balls and such.
Winter Golf in Florida
Course was not in very good shape. Greens were bare with many painted over areas and cross-hatching. Sand traps were very shallow (little sand) and pin locations did not match the Blue/White/Red flag placements. Will very likely not play here again. I have played here previously and do not remember the course being in this bad of shape.
