Booty Course
For starters, a lawn mower goes a long way. The grass right off the fairway is ridiculously high. Lost a few balls within 10 feet of the fairway due to the grass length.
We lost multiple balls in the fairway due to drainage. Extremely wet course. Plugged every ball we hit. We spent a lot of time trying to find balls that should have easily been found. Even lost a ball or two in the fairway.
The greens are abysmal. The greens were hairy and slow. They did not break at all because of how slow they were. There are also patches foreign grass that impeded putting along with bare spots on the green.
If you are in the Daytona Beach area and want to play golf, go somewhere else. $29 even for this course is robbery. I’m not sure I would play it again if someone paid me $29.
Poor conditions
Course needs significant work. Fairways, and rough need to be mowed. No sand in bunkers. Greens in tough shape.
Big boy who sweets a lot
Really enjoyed. Handled the area from heavy rains pretty well!! I’ll be back.
Lost ball not to be found
Balls hit in rough or fairway lost, too much time to locate, no grass on senior tees, no drainage on coarse
Good time
This course has a great lay out, lil wet but it’s been raining everyday for a week so what do you expect. Keep the ball in the fairway and you’ll have a great round. Staff was very friendly, I’ll be back soon!
Rough
Frustrating to not be able to find your ball in the rough, you could easily walk by it even though you had a good idea of the area. Very tough to dig the ball out of the rough as well, full swing with a 4 iron and getting about 25 yards out of it hitting the ball square. Maybe I'm just weak but that's frustrating. Found several balls near the fairway in the rough so clearly others gave up looking as well. The greens still have lots of bare patches though it looks like some of the spots have been filled with a clover like weed which helps, they're trying at least..
Balls?
I play here every week because of price an convenient to home. But it probably evens out as if you hit in the rough the ball is history. Even when you both know where it landed. For the sake of playing just drop and go. We had 2 foursomes ahead of us so the pace was slow because of the ball search. We even had the 2 behind us try to jump ahead of us not realizing we too were waiting to play. They didn’t get to tee off so we told them go back to the last tee and learn etiquette. I go to enjoy like the others. Sometimes the pace is slow. Ended up smacking my husband with a chip shot. Guess he won’t walk in front of me again
Lawn service?
How do you loose a ball in a fairway. Well I did on the front 9 the 6th hole. Spent minutes looking for the ball, but I don't think they mowed since the last time I was there 3 weeks ago. We spent more time searching for our balls then playing. If you hit in the rough you just as well drop a ball as the grass was over my ankles. I like the course but today I see why it had a low star rating. There was a foursome behind us who we lost after the 3rd hole. Figured they were busy looking for their balls too. Hope they mow soon.
The course and staff
Great staff and taking all the necessary precautions for Covid. No waiting. Course in great shape.
Pelican Bay 1
The greens are very fair
The course layout is challenging but straightforward
The fairways are hard
The rough is very penal especially around the greens
The sand traps are in need of new sand and a lot of it.
Never again
Was way overcharged, no ice for coolers, rough not mowed for awhile, black spots and clover in greens (they putted well if ball moved away from spots). When group goes for vacation, this course will NOT be in the rotation.
Poorly maintained
I don’t know when the course was last cut, but it wasn’t recently. Greens were in poor condition. Second fairway cut was thicker than any rough I’ve ever encountered. I can only assume they have it in such abysmal condition to make up for the fact that it’s perhaps the most boring layout conceivable. This was the least fun I have ever had playing golf.
Pelican Bay North
You can tell this course used to be really nice. They hosted some pro events back in the day. Even though it is not that course anymore, I enjoyed playing it. The greens were ok, but had a few bald spots on the fringes. The tee boxes were ok as well. If you roll your ball in the fairway, you can have fun playing the course.
Funday
It’s a great course for just a fun laid back day. The staff took their time to call and tell me my putter cover was found and put it aside for me. Really like the scenery.
Great place
I really like this place. the only thing is if you hit in the rough, consider that ball lost. We just stopped searching and dropped a ball. I lost 3 balls today, but found 3 balls. So I guess not the only one who can't find them. The course is fun, the scenery beautiful. I like this place.
Worst course I have ever played
Absolutely terrible, from the conditions to the staff to the players. I have never had such a poor and unprofessional experience throughout my time playing golf. The course conditions couldn’t get any worse from the ruined muddy weedy greens to the rough that is 6 inches deep along the fringe. Such a terrible kept course greeted by a rude and unhelpful staff member along with people on the course who don’t understand to not hit on the green while people are putting. Save your money such a waste of time a terrible course.
Great atmosphere
Love the courses. Will definitely play here again. Plenty of challenges on the layout ⛳️
Bring extra balls.
Overall the course was good, but if you hit in the ruff just kiss that ball goodbye. Had a hard start as the front desk was extremely rude. Then you best bring bug spray as there was a lot of biting black flies and mosquitoes. Outside of those glitches it was an interesting course with lots of wildlife to see. Greens were short and fast.
