Glen Abbey Golf Club
About
The 18-hole Glen Abbey Golf Club in Debary, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dominic Palombo, Glen Abbey Golf Club measures 6661 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 137 and a 72.9 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bermuda grass and the fairways are winter rye.
The Glen Abbey course winds through gently rolling landscapes of sylvan splendor and a 60-acre body of water known as “No-Name” Lake. There are no parallel fairways and all fairways are tree-lined. Water comes into play on eight holes. There are 80 strategically placed bunkers. Crepe myrtle, elderberry and oleander plantings are an aesthetic addition to existing magnolia, oak and towering pines which frame most fairways.

This course needs some TLC.
Maybe in the spring when the grass grows in the spring the course could be a lot better.
Payed $16 so i could not complain
Happy i just paid $16. My wife's first 18 holes of golf so the course was sufficient for that. However, if i had been with my regular foursome i would have been totally disappointed no matter the price. Fairways and rough were very poorlly maintained and scrubby looking. Not one ah ha moment on the course. Greens were just ok. Puttable but not pretty if you know what that means. I would recommend this course if green fees are your only concern.
Solid 3 stars
Greens and fairways were ok. The bunkers were better than the last time I played here. They are making some improvements, but still have a ways to go to get in back into our regular rotation. The course layout is very good. It is not a bad value for what they are charging. I give it a good solid 3 stars. Will play here a few times a year to keep checking progress. Would love to see it get back to the condition it was 10 years ago.
Fast green
Greens were the best part about the course, some very nice holes more on back nine. Overall in nice condition for this time.
seasonally goog
really enjoy playing this course, have played it many times but it is not walking friendly, first of all, there are no rakes at any of the bunkers, they are supplied with the carts, there are also no benches at the tee boxes if you have to wait to tee off if the pace is slow, no problem if you have a cart, and if I remember right, there is only one ball washer on the entire course at the first tee. I really do enjoy the course.
Gem of a Course
Great course with some elevation changes and challenging holes. Great pace of play and people that were sensible about allowing faster player through.
Greens consistent and the course in good condition after a heavy frost.
Why in the World would you let 2 groups of 5 tee off before a twosome!
the club allowing 2 fivesomes tee off before us 2 was totally unacceptable. Waiting on every shot over the span of 4 1/2 hours for 2 people to play was horrible. This club obviously has no control.
Glen Abbey is one of my favs
Looking to golf on my day off and booked a round at Glen Abbey - 745 tee time - arrived at 730 and the ever friendly staff greeted me by name and told me I was all set and could head to the tee box. Got to the tee box and a 2some was there, they were friendly and asked what my tee time was and then invited me to play with them (bonus as I hate playing alone) - had a truly awesome round - the 2 gents were gregarious and we had a blast. Since I had played here before, they were quick to ask me about trouble areas and what to avoid - we played in just under 3 1/2 hours. Course was in excellent shape, the greens ran to the fast side this time out even though it was early. The fairways were green and firm. All in all another great round at a great local course
Hidden Gem
This course has a great layout front is a little more open than the back. Greens were in great shape. Tee boxes are in process and all the sand traps have good sand in them. I highly recommend this course.
Hidden Gem in volusia County
Pleasantly surprised on the layout of the course. They staff was very friendly and helpful. You can tell that they are working hard to get the course into shape( older reviews were very suspect of course conditions) tee boxes, fairways and greens have been maintained and seem to be continuing to work in the course. Pricing is very fair and I think it can become a great destination affordable ,golf course.
Course is in better shape than it has been in recent years. Staff very friendly, Pro Shop amenities very limited. Played by myself and no waiting so played quite briskly. Enjoyed it very much
Intersting
Doglegs make it very interesting. Not a walking course as it winds through the neighborhood.
Good Deal for Price
Very good layout and the greens are in very good condition, but tee boxes are in rough shape and fairways need some TLC...lotsa weeds and bare areas. I played this course years ago when it was in much better shape. But for the price it's not bad. And the folks there were extremely pleasant, friendly and seemed genuinely glad we were there...no qualms recommending this course.,
First and last time
This was the first time I have played this course. I was very disappointed. The course condition was not good. Too many weeds and not enough grass in the fairways. The course could have used some water on most holes. The back side was very wet on some holes. Overall this might be a course for people learning or starting to play only. Was very disappointed to say the least and will never play again. Other courses in area that are in better shape.
