Glen Abbey Golf Club

About
The 18-hole Glen Abbey Golf Club in Debary, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dominic Palombo, Glen Abbey Golf Club measures 6661 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 137 and a 72.9 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bermuda grass and the fairways are winter rye.
The Glen Abbey course winds through gently rolling landscapes of sylvan splendor and a 60-acre body of water known as “No-Name” Lake. There are no parallel fairways and all fairways are tree-lined. Water comes into play on eight holes. There are 80 strategically placed bunkers. Crepe myrtle, elderberry and oleander plantings are an aesthetic addition to existing magnolia, oak and towering pines which frame most fairways.

Hole #12, 150 yard par-3 over water Photo submitted by ShragMagtite on 03/08/2019
Enjoyable course, mediocre conditions
I had a fun playing here this past weekend. Like many courses in the area, the conditions are worse for wear and many holes are in need of attention. Most tee boxes and greens are in pretty poor condition, but still playable. The fairways are solid on the majority of holes with no major issues. The layout is very interesting and not boring, just need the conditions to improve to match. I look forward to seeing how this course shapes up in the coming months.
Terrible course, not worth, will not be back
I understand a hurricane hit two weeks and the course only had the front 9 open but this rating is because the course was in terrible condition and should be considered unplayable. On top of having the sprinklers running 24/7 on not only the green but the tee box. Couldn’t even play where we needed to. And having them randomly going off and getting completely wet 2-3 times while we tried to play at least 9 holes. Left after that and paid for 18. Wasn’t even worth it to stay
Very poor
While I understand this course has changed ownership a number of times in the last 20+ years, it seems like this course is stuck in a rut. I didn’t expect it to be in great shape but didn’t expect it to be so poor. Hole 2, a par 5, used to drive over a swampy pond and now, because it’s overgrown and under kept, they’ve moved the tees to what would be the first landing area. Most tee boxes are weed ridden with deep ruts to stand in. It’s like they’re not even trying. I want it to be good again, I really do. Crazy prices for the dismal shape of the course. Shouldn’t be more than $15 for 18 in this shape. Bummed because it’s 5 minutes from my house and because I remember when it was lush and beautiful 30 years ago.
Cow pasture
I would rather dog a couple of holes in a cow pasture and play. The course was in horrible shape.
I can’t believe they even charge as bad as it is. It has a great layout just needs an owner willing to take care of it
Relax and golf
A little slow today. Guy in front was trying out 4 shots at a time.
The staff and course layout are great!
The staff are great! The lady in the Pro Shop is by far the best asset in the course!!
The course layout is challenging and fun to play.
The condition of the tee boxes is by far the worst that I have been playing. Some areas of the fairways are decent, but maybe just the 15-20% of the fairway.
The greens are in bad condition, and the roads for the cart is like driving in a safari!
With some money in the maintenance this course would be great.
Great Course
Always enjoy playing at Glen Abbey.
Course is moderately difficult but fun to play.
Hole 17 & 18 are tough when you are playing after 5, the sun is directly in your eyes and 18 is right beside the driving range. Other than that good course and great prices.
