Golfer Reviews
Bad shape
Kind of a bummer. Showed up to tee off and course and GOLFNOW did not sync tee times. Had to wait which wasn’t a big deal. Tee off about an hour late and wait at every tee box for the foursome in front of us. Course was in ROUGH shape. Lots of areas that should have grass but didn’t. Mostly hitting out of crab grass. Overall fun day to be out but not at all impressed with the GATED community course.
Didn’t have time booked
Got to the course. They said that all GolfNow tee times didn’t transfer to their golf tee sheet. So they were double booked on every tee time. Please refund my $5 booking fee.
Course conditions
Course is not in that good of condition. Bunkers are dry and hard.
Pro Shop Guy's a RICHARD.
The last (2) times I've booked Morgan Creek with Golf Now, the same older white guy at the pro shop desk doesn't have my reservation and makes a fuss about getting me onto the course. Then, there's a tournament full of seniors in front of us that either Golf Now didn't broadcast or the course didn't mention. As nice as this course is, so are many in Roseville with polite, friendly, and professional staff, whose equipment works perfectly with Golf Now reservations. This J-A acts like my business is not appreciated. I'm good. I'll spend money elsewhere--never returning.
The layout of the course is excellent, the condition of the course is however anything but excellent. The greens were in fair condition but very slow, the fairways had way to many areas without any grass.
If the course can be put back in good condition, it will be an excellent experience to play it.
Horrible condition but amazing cart girls
Tee boxes longer cut than fairways. Fairways if lucky are dirt. Slowest greens ever like putting on a shag carpet. No sand in bunkers.
But cart girls were phenomenal, only reason I would go back. Koi fish.
Good day
A little to soggy in a lot of places but otherwise the course is in good shape and a fun place to olay
Greens were horrible
Greens were horrible 2 or 3max out of 10. Greens weren't well maintained. Many divots to putt through. Fairways were a 4 out of 10. Love the course layout but for crappy Greens and paying $69 is not worth it.
BDM
Nice course....A lot more dry areas than I have seen in the past...Bunkers need some sand added and upkeep.
Overall good compared to some in the area.
This is a nice course. Pace was slow, but it was a Saturday. the lakes are dry and some spots need watering. Greens are in good shape. They have a Polish Sausage on the menu, but they give you a hot dog in foil and the bun is in foil which was cold. What happen to the polish? They claim food is cooked to order. The food is overpriced.
Horrible greens
Course was ok. Tee boxes were like long rough Bermuda grass and the greens had 50-60 divots on every hole!! Definitely not worth the $70 I paid.
First time at Morgan Creek
Check in experience was great. We all chose to ride but the course is very walkable. Small driving range area for warming up, hitting off mats.
The course conditions weren't great. Fairways were ok, for the most part, but quite a few were over watered. It was very wet in some places, even resulting in balls plugging off the tee. If you ended up missing a fairway, the conditions deteriorated quickly. You'd find dry hard pan and patch grass. Sand traps were ok. Some were hard and others had standing water. The greens weren't in good condition. Very bumpy and wet. Lots of old ball marks that hadn't filled in. A couple greens had been plugged that morning, just around the edges. The plugs had spilled over onto the putting surface. The back nine was in better condition than the front nine.
Just an ok experience at Morgan Creek. I won't be back soon, until the conditions are a bit better. It is a challenging course, though. Narrow fairways. Accuracy is rewarded.
Disappointed
Sand traps were mostly dirt overgrown with grass and there is a lot of them. Large portions of course dead grass or dirt. No hole Information markers. Layout was confusing, water hazards dried up. Most greens were pitted and covered with goose droppings. Lots of golf cart damage, poor signage for driving on course, extremely dangerous terrain for driving and walking. Even at a “hot deal” prince not worth the money.
Cool course
I just moved to the area a month ago, nice little course, played the first tee time on a Thursday, got done in about 3 hours… fairways are wet but understandable due to the heat… greens were little slow but overall solid course
Conditions
The course is in horrible shape. There are no fairways and rough. It’s all the same and not good, especially the front side. They either have dead spots with zero water, or spots that are saturated and unplayable. For the middle of summer, I shouldn’t be taking casual water drops on every other hole. Very disappointed with the course conditions, Clearly the staff doesn’t care.
The drought is having its toll
Love the layout and it was a perfect day, but the fairways are getting in rough shape, the greens slow and over watered, and worst of all the bunkers were simply terrible. nearly hardpan with 1/2 of heavy wet sand throughout the course. nearly impossible to play a proper bunker shot. I didn't realize sand was a hard to find commodity these days.
On balance they are overcharging given the current conditions, there are other courses for the price in better shape locally.
