Deltona Club
About
The Deltona Club holds the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 20 public golf courses in Florida. The club has roots that date back to the late 1950s. It is a remake of one of the state's earliest planned communities. Bobby Weed redesigned the golf course, improving its aesthetic appeal and giving it more playability. The course sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. It is a far cry from the many flat public courses that exist throughout Florida. The natural contours of the terrain helped determine the strategic placement of the numerous bunkers, many of which were added during Weed's renovation. The Deltona Club's parkland layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that even have the feel of a links course.

Coming back beautifully
The course is finally catching up to the staff. The staff is always been fantastic at Deltona now the course is coming back beautifully even during the worst rains. This is a course drains and is never mushy.
A hidden gem
First, the course drains remarkably well. Previous rounds nearby were generally cart path only and very very wet. Deltona Golf Club drains well and you would not know that we had just had a very rainy week. Range is okay, price is very good. Layout is quite enjoyable though there are a couple of blind shots. Note that I played about 7:15, and holes 3 and 4 (I think) play directly into the rising sun - so be sure to take your shades. Greens in good condition and not too fast. Looking forward to my next round. here.
The course is in very good condition. I knew going there the greens had been punched but are coming back nicely. I suspect this course to be in excellent condition in a couple if weeks.
Great course for price
Great course for the price. Tee boxes and fairways were nice! Greens were just aerated but still playable. Give it a week or two and this course will be in great condition. Would play again especially for the price!
This course has great features
impressive work bringing the best layout in the area back in condition.
Well Maintained
While the courses south of Lake Monroe seemed to be soaking wet, this course was well drained. The layout is good to excellent, I rated it good because there are several blind shots. I will certainly be back to play again, and probably play more wisely :). I did not spend much time in the clubhouse, but the interactions with the staff showed them to be friendly and helpful. I did not use the snack bar. Weather was very warm. Note - if you play in the early morning you will need good sunglasses, as several of the early holes play to the east and the sun was dazzling.
Course Much Improved
I played this course at end of Aug 24. The last time I play before was in Oct 23. I decided not to play this course after that because it was in such bad shape. Bunkers were hard, Fairways were mostly sandy dirt, Tee boxes were spotty and Greens, well not green and patchy grass. A friend talked me into playing this time so I begrudgingly did so. My Gosh, what an improvement. Tee boxes were green, Fairways were green, Greens were green. and sand traps actually were sandy. All was well kept. It went from a 1.5 star to about 3.75 star review in my mind. This is great because I now have another go to course in the Deltona Area. Also for as well kept as it is, they had very few roped off areas. Staff was pleasant. My only negative is I wish they would keep the concession/food court open until at least 630 pm to feed us afternoon golfers. They close around 2:30 pm. The guys I golf with, we like to stop at a course café to enjoy a round and conversation.
Getting better
The recent rain has been very beneficial to Deltona Club. Fairways and greens look so much better than a couple of months ago!
Accurate Reviews
Very nice layout and can see improvements are being made. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all fine. Several waste bunkers are in need of attention (state of going back to nature) but not a huge negative in my opinion. I look forward to next visit when in area as great value for $.
Carts
About the worst carts around. They don’t even have a club cover for when it rains.
Course conditions
New superintendent bringing this course back to good conditions. Sand traps and waste area still need work. Rome wasn’t built in a day
Cheap rates
The cheap rates for this course are reflected in the care of the course. This course needs a lot of attention. Waste areas full of weeds, bare spots in fairways and rough, slow greens. Bring your own water because you won’t find any on the course. If you want an inexpensive round and don’t care about course conditions, by all means play here. If you’re expecting a pristine course, you will be sadly disappointed.
Good best value course
Get what you pay for. Course is player friendly with a handful of challenging holes. Friendly staff and good clubhouse. Will come back again
Improving
Course is in good shape; greens, fairways and tees are nice. They have some problem areas that need work and have to find a way to keep idiots from driving on the collars, tees and other areas they know they shouldn’t be driving on.
