Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
About
Desert Springs Resort boasts two championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, the Palms and the Valley. The golf courses are known for their beautiful setting, offering unrivaled views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley. The Valley Course is considered the less challenging of the two, but both offer a stunning landscape covered with swaying palms and blue lagoons. The course features player-friendly fairways that beginners will enjoy, but there are also a fair amount of challenges. Like on the Palms Course, there is plenty of water. Between the two golf courses, more than 35 acres of water features come into play in the form of man-made lakes and streams. In addition to the two courses, Desert Springs also offers an 18-hole putting course, which offers all the same challenges as the other courses including bunkers, water hazards, and undulating fairways.

Not A Bad Day But It Could Have Been Better
Unfortunately the foursome ahead of us was slow and there wasn’t a marshal to speed them along.
This put a damper on an otherwise nice day.
9 on the Palms course
From Check in to departure, the staff was professional and friendly. Played an afternoon 9 holes. Pace of play was excellent and the course was in nice shape ... a very relaxing afternoon.
Marriott Desert Springs Valley Course
Everything was good except the conditions were not nearly as good as the other four locations we played in the area. Also there was nobody in the bag drop area when we arrived. Not a major issue for me but some others kept waiting and they didn’t appear during the wait
Fairways are rough for a resort course
Played at 1 pm in less than four hours which was great. Greens and fairways not in good shape yet.
Valley course in poor condition
Fairways, greens, bunkers all in poor condition. Not up to our expectations of a Marriott property.
Pretty good but could be better
Staff, golf cart, driving range, practice green all top notch. Many very nice holes. Fairways not as good as could be; many patchy brown spots. No on course marshall. We were flying at a 3.5 hour round until #12, the foursome in front was unbearably slow to the point two of them left in disgust. The remaining two kept looking for lost balls, all stood around on the green, didn't rake bunkers and just plain lacked any courtesy. Hard to fault the course but if there was a marshal at least a complaint could be made in a timely fashion. Other than these two yahoos the rest of the day was pretty good.
Beautiful course!
This course was gorgeous. Everyone working at the course was friendly, and the golf carts were well equipped.
Pretty average
Overpriced considering the poor condition of the fairways
OK but…
Nice layout, fairways not in great condition, greens fast and tough but not in as good condition as neighbouring courses. No on course marshals— we came to a roadblock at #15, a VERY slow group holding everyone up
Not Stellar, but it will be in time.
"Excellent course, but compared to the Palm Course, the Valley Course has a lot of brown grass on the fairways that has not greened up from the reseeding in the Fall. As a result, you may have to pick up your ball and move it to green grass area around the dead brown grass areas if your ball falls into it. Greens were in good shape and so were the tee's. Pace of play excellent.
Avoid unless money is no object
For $155 this was a rip off. Condition of the course was poor. No ranger. No help from the pro shop when our cart died around the 11th hole.
About as bad an experience I ever had on a golf course. I will never forget this adventure. I'm avoiding this course with extreme prejudice going forward.
Save your money. Play elsewhere.
Avoid if at all possible...
Just got off the course 12/28/2022. Given the conditions of the course, I should have paid $40 for 18 holes. The fairways were in TERRIBLE condition. To add insutl to injury, our cart died somewhere around the 11th hole and nobody was answering the phone in the pro shop after 12 tries... Luckily a cart girl was willing to help us and get someone from the garage to send over a working golf cart.
My buddy took me to his private club for a round of golf last week and I was just trying to repay the favor. I was totally embarrassed by the condition of that Valley course.
Don’t waste your money
We went to the bag drop and waited about 10 minutes with a few other folks with no one in site. I went down to unplug a cart in the cart barn and bring it up. I was scolded by the bag person that I should have read a sign behind me which know one else read to call to get someone up. Not a great way to start and a snarky “merry Xmas” from him as we drove off.
The fairways are burned out on the majority of the holes.
What looks beautiful from a distant isn’t up close.
Save your $$ this course at this time was disappointing along with customer service subpar.
