Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort

I found the sand in the bunkers difficult to hit out of. The sand was too thin as well as heavy and wet causing the ball to play irregular out of the bunker. Also The bunkers had grass growing and then

Fairways and greens in excellent shape. Traps are very poor. More dirt/sand mixture which prevents explosion and soft landing using sand wedge. Pace of play was 3 1/2 hours at 7:12 teem time on a Wednesday. Plenty of challenges on this moderate course. Overall experience was very good with great weather this time of year.

The Marriott facility is first class. The range and practice greens top notch. The Valley course was well maintained, greens rolling true, not too fast and approach shots land softly and we’re biting.

It plays short from the blue tees. Keep your drives in the fairway and you’ll have short approach shots and score well. Lots of water on the course so plan out your hole strategy. The staff were very friendly and the course is very picturesque. We really enjoyed our round here.

Nice course; superb condition. Real good value at the twilight rates.

Holes are designed so you use many different

clubs. Greens were a little slow, but puttable.

A few blind shots that a first timer would be frustrated with.

Terrific course layout. Every hole is great to play. The resort should be embarrassed for the quality of the bunkers, unplayable. And terribly slow greens.

On a fully booked day, the half way house was closed and it was 3 hours before we saw the beverage cart...so an hour from being done (tee off was just before 1pm).

Good pace of play in 4 hours.

Not a first time player at this course, but as with past play, everything met with our desired expections.
