Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
About
Desert Springs Resort boasts two championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, the Palms and the Valley. The golf courses are known for their beautiful setting, offering unrivaled views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley. The Valley Course is considered the less challenging of the two, but both offer a stunning landscape covered with swaying palms and blue lagoons. The course features player-friendly fairways that beginners will enjoy, but there are also a fair amount of challenges. Like on the Palms Course, there is plenty of water. Between the two golf courses, more than 35 acres of water features come into play in the form of man-made lakes and streams. In addition to the two courses, Desert Springs also offers an 18-hole putting course, which offers all the same challenges as the other courses including bunkers, water hazards, and undulating fairways.

Disappointed
I have played this course in the past and loved it... until this last round.
As is always the case, we found a few sand traps and I always enjoy hitting out of a GOOD one. However, the bunkers were NOT properly maintained and were like 'Cement' which made it impossible to hit a good shot.
I don't mind this on a lower quality golf course but find it totally unacceptable on a high quality and high priced course like the Marriott.
a pleasure to play here
I play here a few times a year. Always in great condition.
good resort course.
Over Priced Course
While the course is beautiful it is not worth the price for the following reasons. The sand traps are awful. Hard and little sand. Similar to the sand on a run down city course. The greens are so slow. The slowest in the area that we played. When paying the price charged by this course it should all be in impeccable condition.
From the time we arrived until we left the experience was class throughout. Will definitely be back.
besutiful
We loved the course. The only issue, out of their control, was the wind. Had we not paid as much as we did, we would have stopped early because the gale force winds significantly impacted our enjoyment.
A pleasure
Great track and everything as green as can be in the middle of the desert! Great practice facilities and amenities. Only complaints: greens running a bit slow and uneven; many bunkers did not have enough sand. Otherwise a pleasure… and we will be back!
Desert golf
Valley course was in great shape. The greens were a bit slow but I understand it’s a resort golf course and pace of play is important. Wouldn’t want the greens so fast that the golf balls would be sliding off the green.
Fairways were awesome… looked as if I were playing on carpet.
Layout is great.. challenges you and makes you work the swing shot.
Overall I enjoyed my round on the Valley course.
Thank you

Why not to go back
The pace of play was so slow that we left after nine holes , not a great course by any measure .
Disappointing Greens
For a resort course, with resort level green fees ($190.00 per player), the greens had not been mowed for several days before our Saturday round. The condition of the greens severly detracted from what should have been a fun golf outing.
