Desert Springs Resort boasts two championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, the Palms and the Valley. The golf courses are known for their beautiful setting, offering unrivaled views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley. The Valley Course is considered the less challenging of the two, but both offer a stunning landscape covered with swaying palms and blue lagoons. The course features player-friendly fairways that beginners will enjoy, but there are also a fair amount of challenges. Like on the Palms Course, there is plenty of water. Between the two golf courses, more than 35 acres of water features come into play in the form of man-made lakes and streams. In addition to the two courses, Desert Springs also offers an 18-hole putting course, which offers all the same challenges as the other courses including bunkers, water hazards, and undulating fairways.

A pleasure

Great track and everything as green as can be in the middle of the desert! Great practice facilities and amenities. Only complaints: greens running a bit slow and uneven; many bunkers did not have enough sand. Otherwise a pleasure… and we will be back!

Desert golf

Valley course was in great shape. The greens were a bit slow but I understand it’s a resort golf course and pace of play is important. Wouldn’t want the greens so fast that the golf balls would be sliding off the green.

Fairways were awesome… looked as if I were playing on carpet.

Layout is great.. challenges you and makes you work the swing shot.

Overall I enjoyed my round on the Valley course.

Thank you

Rafa M

Why not to go back

The pace of play was so slow that we left after nine holes , not a great course by any measure .

Disappointing Greens

For a resort course, with resort level green fees ($190.00 per player), the greens had not been mowed for several days before our Saturday round. The condition of the greens severly detracted from what should have been a fun golf outing.

Poor greens and service

Greens were terrible. Slow and bumpy in the peak of the golf season. One person working pro shop with line 12 deep when we showed up. After round we went to the bar for a drink. There was no host so we sat ourselves in one of 30 open tables. (3:00 in afternoon). A waiter informed us we would have to see the hostess for a table. I stood at the host stand for 3 minutes before someone showed up. I was told by the host that there were no tables available even though I could clearly see over 30 empty tables. Horrible service

Fuzzy Greens

Beautiful layout and overall views on the course. Was surprised how slow and fuzzy the greens were. A ton of ball marks and for the money you pay- not the quality experienced. Even the pairing I joined said the same thing. I’ve played it… will not be going back I’m afraid.

Beautiful layout, slow greens and pace of play

Enjoyable layout with generous landing areas off the tees and receptive greens. I found the greens to be relatively slow for most other courses in the area and the pace of play was exceptionally slow with absolutely no on course marshalling to assist.

Bad bad green speed, not maintained fairways and sand bunkers

I played this course many times in past years.

I don't know what happen to the course but green speed was extremely slow for the green fee of $199.00.

Bad bunkers for too high of price

The bunkers were a joke. For $152.00 this course, despite lots of positives and fun holes is simply not worth it

Challenging course in great shape

Fun and challenging course that was in great shape when we played in early Feb-2022. We had over an hour frost delay which was strange since I didn't think the temps even dropped below 40 degrees the previous night. I thought the staff/starters did a good job managing the packed course and communicating with everyone. Driving range (and putting/chipping areas) is way too small for a 36 hole facility but everything was nice and scenery was nice. Are their better values in Palm Springs? Probably, but every course was super expensive and this almost seemed like a good deal
