Baytowne at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

I wouldn’t normally leave a review like this but it is deserved. We played 3 days in the same group, Links, Raven and Baytown. Links and Raven were both fantastic. Baytown was a total ripoff. They didn’t bother to tell us that the greens were covered in a fungus and every green was covered in sand. Impossible to putt. I understand sometimes they have to things to maintain the greens, but most courses would have warned you in advance ,a nod/or offered a discount, a substantial one based on the conditions. But we were charged full price and their only warning was that the Baytown greens were a little slower than Raven. Ha…what a joke. Try 5 points slower, leaving a sand trail with your putt. All in all we really felt lie we were ripped off at Baytown. Don’t trust them.

Not a bad layout, course was very dry but little rain in last month. Pace of play was SLOW and so were the greens. Greens were slow, rough and bumpy, otherwise would've been a decent golf course.

The lady that was the starter very rude greens were in bad shape no sand in sand traps it’s Florida there’s sand everywhere but in there traps no cart person for the first nine just not worth 105 green fee

We have played this course numerous times over the past 20 years and this is the worst shape we have ever seen. Not sure why, but it was very disappointing. The pace of play was awful and the person in the golf shop staff reminded me of the DMV. Maybe he was having a bad day. Sandestin is a wonderful resort and we have never had a bad experience in the past at any of the courses. Hopefully they can focus on the course conditions and restore it back to being the fun course it used to be.

Great course, well maintained, great facilities, friendly staff

The clubhouse folks warned us that the greens were a work in progress as they had “lost” them earlier in the year - did NOT result in a reduced price for play. They had top dressed the greens the day before, and they were not as bad as I thought they would be, but were slow. In particular, hole 13 was HORRIBLE, not because of condition of the green - the fairway was void of grass , not dirt, but definitely not as nice as all the other holes. Almost like they had not watered it for a long time…

Still, fun to play, would not hesitate to play again even in the current condition.

Have played this course numerous times times over the years and not sure what has happened, but greens mower is scalping the greens, tee boxes for red and white are in rough shape plus the pin cup cutter is tearing a portion of the hole. Staff is amazing but can't make up for poor course conditions

Fun layout and the staff was very friendly. Maybe its the time of year but the course and the greens in particular, were in pretty bad shape. Gave up putting after two holes. Should not be charging anywhere near the $100 mark.

Overall disappointing.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The course was in very good condition. We played on Sunday in under four hours. Highly recommend

Spend a couple weeks a year in Destin area and have played many spots over the years. I play a sister track "The Links" 10+ times (actually played Links Monday.) first time playing Baytowne and will prob book again before leaving.

Greeted by staff at bag drop and counter at pro shop. Super friendly and informative for first time play.

The starter was very nice and we talked for a couple minutes. The other players in the group no show so he sent us off at scheduled time, by second hole the group in front waved us through and we played 18 in 2.5 hours.

Boxes looked great and fairways super.

The greens were a very slow but rolled true. I struggled w greens

I left my phone in the cart and I called 30 mins after we left, they found it and held at the pro shop when I returned couple hours later. THANKS!

They do warn you about the greens ahead of time but they are rough. Very slow putting and lots of weeds and dead spots. The course layout is great and it’s challenging. I would definitely play it again!

Average course, rained a majority of the time. Driving range packed, no room to warm up, loud people, loud music, thought I was at a frat party.

Greens were sanded and harry. But the course is pristine and the views are beautiful. Would highly recommend. GofNow had a great price, saved at ton.

Greens in horrible shape, especially the front nine. Back nine a little better but green fees should’ve been reduced. It was worse than airiated greens.

The Greens on Baytowne Course are absolutely horrible. The have to use a mower with a dull blade...there were at least 1/4" - 1/2" large chunks missing from the greens in several places. To charge the price they charge to play with the course (especially the greens in such poor condition), I would recommend AGAINST playing the Baytowne course. I have NEVER seen a course in my entire life with worse greens than this course.

Had an early tee time . Staff in club house was super rude . Starter was too lazy to get out of his cart. They just sanded the greens which we weren't made aware of.

The greens were unacceptable for such a quality course. They shouldn't allow play under such conditions, especially for $100.
