Located right along the water, Emerald Bay Golf Club was designed by Bob Cupp to be Destin's premier full-service, 18-hole championship course. Water is a prominent feature as the course overlooks the shores Choctawhatchee Bay and incorporates water features on 12 of the holes. Oftentimes golfers will face an intimidating shot across a lake or a pond. Emerald Bay Golf Club's sculpted fairways and tight greens are always in excellent condition. There are four sets of tees that make the golf course accessible to most players' abilities and no matter what skill level you are, the views are not to be missed. The views are especially breathtaking on the back nine, which borders the bay. There is also an expansive driving range at Emerald Bay that golfers can use before playing the golf course.

Round on vacation

My wife and I were looking for an economical option to play a round while on a long holiday weekend trip. I have played Emerald Bay before and enjoy the layout. They had an afternoon special on golf now, so we grabbed it. We had a fun time, and my wife enjoyed it as her first time playing there thought it was a friendly course for her. My only complaint were the greens. They were not cut and very bumpy.

Good course - lots of water.

Course in good condition. Pace was a little slow because of a group of 5 that was 3 groups ahead of us that we didn't get past until #16. Water on most holes makes it challenging.

The course had some brown spots in the fairways but was in otherwise good condition. Greens were in good shape but slightly slow. We played several in the area and this was well worth the price.

Super friendly staff

Everyone in my party really enjoyed this course. What can sometimes make the difference when playing a golf game are the people you interact with at the course. The staff at this course is first rate. The amenities in the clubhouse are well appointed and they have a very good 19th hole.

As far as the course goes, it was in very good shape since we really haven't had much rain until the week we arrived. The greens were a little slow and they were a few bald spots; but not bad. The fairways were in good condition and it was nice to hit some free range balls.

The pace of golf was slow, but that is to be expected at a tourist destination.

I have no problem recommending this course for the average golfer. If you can't keep it in the fairway, take extra balls. There is a lot of water. Have fun!

Not so good

The course is currently not in good condition. The fairways were below average at best. There are much better courses in the area and the greens were slow and they look like they had been punched a couple weeks ago, but there were weeds growing out of the greens. The course was just in the condition that, I couldn’t see it being any better in the future and I don’t see myself playing it again.
