Simply wonderful
Had a blast! Really well maintained and well presented course. Can’t speak of it highly enough. A true championship quality course
Good value for money
Well maintained course but would recommend using an app while playing to help show distance to ditches etc. lots of lost balls in ditches you can’t even see from a tee box, or the course need to install hole layout maps on tee boxes.
Well worth the £19 I paid
Golf day
Great price, lovely course. Nice and flat.
Definitely worth the money.
Dreadful
Quite possibly the worst condition of any course that I've played in 25 yrs of playing golf.
Tee boxes look like a divot has never been repaired, clover and weeds growing all over the fairway and its in desperate need for water. I dont think the course has any green keepers working on it at all.
The lad in the golf shop had nothing about him, he gave poor directions to get to the first which we just had to guess in the end.
The greens were strange, rapid but like bouncy castle when walking on them. Rested my putter a couple times and the ball moved.
Have a look at the images and judge for yourself.
Had a great day
I played this course twice now and it's worth the journey from Gloucester I like the course and the green fees are really good
Excellent
It was a fabulous day. Course was in excellent condition. Pro-shop staff and greens staff extremely helpful and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
A fantastic experience!
The whole day was just superb. The staff that we met both within the pro-shop and out on the course were helpful, obliging and professional, nothing was too much trouble.
With well prepared fairways and greens the course was in excellent condition.
Everyone that we met met were friendly. It was a most pleasurable day, so much so that I am looking forward to returning again in the not too distant future.
Could be better
A fair bit to like about St Pierre, and some issues as well. The Mathern course was generally in good condition, especially the greens. Quite a tight course and a lot of large trees intruding the fairways which were in good condition considering the drought. Tees were pretty awful, though, a lot of unrepaired divots and tufts of grass. Bunkers had reasonable amounts of soft sand.
The "clubhouse" is really part of the hotel, clean and comfortable. Decent menu and food quality but £25 for 2 bacon rolls and 2 lattes is pushing it. Sunningdale it ain't.
Very very slow play cours should be monitored for slow play
The course was excellent but the play was very very slow they where four elderly women in front of us it took us 5 hours to go around it was very frustrating it affected our game so was not very happy the course should be monitored for slow play in high season apart from that everything else about the place was very good
Slow play ruined the day!
Overall a great course and excellent value for money. I have played the course probably 5 times now and this was the only occasion where play was held up. It was a 10 min wait on almost every tee. This put a dampness on the day.
St Pierre in the sun
Played the Mather’s course this time. Generally in god condition, tees could do with attention but a great days golf. Staff very fr and helpful.
Super post game atmosphere at the 29th!
