Course is not well marked
Good course however poorly marked and scorecard doesn’t have an layout of the course.
Good for the money!
The course wasn't overly difficult. They had recently changed the layout, so we were playing it blind (no hole description or picture). Their new score books were not in. The 9's are reversed, with a new #6 hole added. The greens were fast, and overall in not great shape. There was a lot of ground under repair on the greens.
All in all it is a nice course, and will play it again.
Rude people/no driving range
We get to the course. We are at the bag drop area. I am going to load my bags ….the guy says that his job. He know a how to put bags on a cart. Get to the pro shop to check in . Informed they have a driving range…..for members only. We could pitch and putt. There was nothing to warm up.
Course in rough shape
Course had not been mowed in several days, many greens in bad shape. A real disappointment.
The course is in terrible condition. Tees, fairways and greens are overgrown, bare or chewed up. No easy place to get refreshments. Staff not really very interested in improving the customer experience.
A challenging round in a windy day
This golf course design is good, however there are areas that are under repair and a couple of greens that are in ridiculously bad shape. The starter was brass and a bit rude. Lots of wildlife on the grounds. Considering what they charge I found it was not value for my money. Disappointing.
Another round
We started about 20 minutes late, and managed to finish in about 4 hours, so not bad pace of play once we were started. I really don't like what has been done with hole #10 - shortened from a par 4 to a really short par 3 - not sure what the long-term plan is for this, but it isn't an enjoyable hole now.
Needs some TLC
We like the course but they have let the maintenance go. The greens are in tough shape and the staff doesn't compare to Myakka, Pelican Point or University Park. We like the course layout and the potential.
Boca Royale always a favourite
The course was in great shape. Only dissapointment was that 10th hole reduced to a par 3 from par 4 as renovations on that hole. Played from the Emerald tees to be consistent with couple playing with and that made it a lot more difficult but still enjoyable as this is a challenging course. Greens were in great shape and running very fast.
Disappointing Condition
Course was sub par compared to others we have played, yet one of the most expensive. Plus no range to hit balls before playing. Way over priced for the condition. Will not play again.
Horrible experience
Unfriendly staff
1- unloaded clubs, said to the staff person”this is our first time playing here” he did “good luck” that’s was it and walked away. Did not even tell us where the pro shop was???
2-next person on staff, enjoy the course!! I asked, is it in good shape? His response “getting better” that was not very encouraging! And he was right! Need to be a whole lot better for the green fees we paid
3- was out out in a twosome, no big deal! What the didn’t say is the course is full of foursomes. It took us 1 hour and 20 min, to play 3.5 holes! So we left the course!!!
4- called to let them know how poor our experience was, and was treated like it was our fault they had slow play, ( not a ranger to be seen) and what made it so un pleasant was the the players ahead of us were running of the greens to speed things up, because they realized we were a twosome, and we were playing extra fast because the starter told us he had to have the course cleared by 2:30, our tee time was 12:15, figure that one out!!!
5- no offer for any compensation! Okay fine our decision to walk off course! But the pro said that he couldn’t refund because we booked on GolfNow with a prepaid fee, I said the reason we booked on line was the website encourage that! Anyway the final straw was this in regards to slow play, while driving home I called the shop, pro told me that the foursomes ahead of us were only playing nine hole and that the course would open up after that!!! now that would have been some handy information to have before we teed off, and lost our patients!!!!
Oh well lesson learned
