Not worth the price
Staff and golfer assistants were very helpful and accommodating. Other golfers were friendly and pace of play was very reasonable for a busy day. Course condition was not what I remembered from past experiences, greens were beat up and damaged. Tee boxes were sandy and dry like most of the course. Probably wouldn't go back at the current prices, I could find better quality for same price or less
2022 Spring review
I get that covid has factored into increasing prices but the rates in Florida have increased by approx. 30% as compared to last year. That being said I would not expect to pay full price for a course that has at least one hole under repair which this course did. Also because of Spring, I would say the course quality is at best 75% and last year the course was in better shape at the same time of year. The staff and personnel were friendly and courteous.
Too pricey $$$
Layout- nothing special, lacking a signature hole
Overall Condition
Cartpaths 3 avg.
Tee boxes 2.5 hard as concrete concrete and not maintained
Rough 2.5 many areas under repair and not mowed
First cut 3 just okay
Fairways 3.75 better than alot in the area
Approaches
4 pretty good
Greens 3.25
Slick and quick rolling about 11 relatively smooth and true
Many under repair with sickness and disease
It's worth $45 a round but $85 is a big stretch based on conditions.
Bag drop staff is super friendly and helpful.
I would probably go back
Overpriced considering there isn’t a driving range to warm up and 1 par 4 (10th hole) is under repair and is being played as a par 3 and a temporary tee box.
Decent course layout. A bit tight. Greens in very good shape and were quick.
In a pinch, if this was the only option that fits your schedule, then do it. But Consider other options
Pace of play was terrible
So slow that we quit after 7 holes
Sorry to say
Deadpan fairways, green edges buried with leaves @ 11am, 1starter and no ranger made this a very unpleasant day. Understanding the fact no rain in a while factors but adjust the price to conditions.
Just a shame.
Challenging but fair
Enjoyed the overall experience of the course. Greens were top dressed but fair. Not a long course but at 6300 from the tips the challenging fairway bunkers and water hazards make for accuracy off the tee and on approach shots. Lots of birds on the course for nature observers. Starter was very informative. The sandwiches we ordered from the beverage cart came promptly prepared from the clubhouse and we’re delicious.
I would play this course again.
A pleasure to play
Played on a Sunday in under 4 hours. Were able to take advantage of a Sunday Brunch priced at $22 . A really perfect Sunday.
Course was nice but Staff needs a refresher course!
If this private course is going to invite the public, the staff should learn to smile and be nice. The Pro-Shop guy was friendly and welcoming but the STARTER was rude and a woman staff member was even more rude when she pointed out that the driving range was for MEMBERS ONLY. There are nice ways to deliver the info.
Okay but could be better.
Greens were great. Fairways not.
Pace of play 4 1/2 to 5 hours. No ranger
Temporary hole and no driving range
I live across the street and refuse to play here again
A couple years ago this was a great place to play. It’s been inder construction for over a year and is pretty rough. No range, the chipping green is laughable, and the pro shop staff acts lime you are lick to play there as if it’s Augusta or something. Now they’re charging MORE money for what is without question the worst course in the Venice/Englewood area? No thanks.
For the amount of money per round, you should include warming up at the range. Nowhere did I see that the range was not available to use.The person in the pro show not helpful nor friendly. The person who loaded my clubs on my cart was delightful and extremely helpful.
