Beginner friendly
Nice easy flowing course with wide forgiving fairways . Great course really enjoyed.
Great day
Throughly enjoyed playing the grove. Weather was great, the course is looking fantastic. Definitely be back soon.
Eltel
Always pleasure playing this coarse every one very friendly. Coarse in very good condition will be back soon
Great day at the Grove.
Course was in great condition and it was great to play of the grass tees after a lond winter.
Enjoyed both on and off course facilities.
Will look forward to another round.
Friendly
Everything at the grove is excellent from the welcoming bar and ground staff to a lovely golf course, the layout is very good and condition was excellent it was just a shame we couldn’t control the weather. I must give a special mention to the staff they are outstanding and can’t do enough for you so thank you.
Not bad for winter golf.
Fair play, mid December, greens and tee boxes were in play! Buggies allowed, although we walked. Bit wet and muddy in places but it is the middle of winter. Pace of play was slow at start due to other visitors not calling us through when they were a two ball buggy and us a 2 ball [walk] but once we were able to around the 6th then it was plain sailing. Clubhouse was closed on arrival and it was a bit of hassle to find the pro shop staff member in the clubhouse but that wasn't too much of a spoiler. Course wise it was mostly flat with some gentle slopes, mostly straight holes and tree lined fairways. Would go again but leave it till the summer months.
Great winter round!
Very impressed with my first round here. It's not an overly difficult course, but was very good conditions for Mid-November!
The fairways are in good shape. The fact we were still using tee boxes is very good. Very friendly club, let through a few times by other players and no issues with pace of play!
My only very minor issue was no yardage stakes (some plaques in the ground) so sometimes tricky to judge distance, but a minor one!
Will definitely go back!
An excellent course
This is the second time I have played this course with friends. Our handicaps are 10,15,20.
The first time was in the summer and now Autumn. The course was in very good condition considering the weather in previous weeks.
It’s an interesting and challenging course . The back nine is suited for persons with long drives .
On this occasion I walked and at times a good haul from Green to tee.
The catering facilities are to a very good standard with a hearty breakfast .
The staff are very helpful
My only complaint is trying to book buggies. There is no professional at club and the office always appears to be closed . We booked the buggy via the bar,
Not to be put off I’m certain we shall return.
Good value, in Porthcawl
Decent course, plays well in wet weather, green were ok for time of year. Nice clubhouse, no pro-shop , or not open Fridays. £5 trolley hire, £16 a round is good value on GolfNow App
Great course
Course was once again in great condition. Ideal for high handicappers as the fairways are generally quite wide but the hazards are well placed to make the course difficult enough. Relatively flat so it's nice to walk. The only comment I have is I've played the course twice...pro-shop was signposted as closed first time out and the second time I searched for it but couldn't find it 🤷♂️. Both occasions ended up just playing the course without speaking to any member of staff. Still, will definitely play again, but probably only when it's a hot deal to keep the cost reasonable.
El tel and jock
Lovely coarse nice people lovely round never have any problems here be back in near future
Good track
Overall a good experience playing the grove, only downside no pro shop open but apart from that all good
Ham,egg&chips in bar after top notch
One Hot Day
Really enjoyable round at The Grove. Think we picked the hottest day of the year so we had super fast greens and the windy conditions made for a big challenge. I could play holes 2 and 3 all day every day.
Would highly recommend a visit to Porthcawl and the course is in close proximity to the seaside resort town centre.
Well worth a knock.
I played this course with two friends with handicaps of 10,15 and 20.
The course was is very good condition and the greens fast and true.
A very good challenge.
A parkland course with plenty of width and not too much trouble finding your ball.
We were able to secure buggies and as we play on a very hot day with good distances between green and tee this helped enormously.
Our ages all over 60 and I would describe as fit.
We decided to have breakfast at the club before our round and a meal afterwards. Very good value and good quality.
No doubt we shall return

Superb from start to finish. One of the best parkland style courses around
