Nice, flat course, excellent condition. Fast greens & some challenging holes. Shared the round with a variety of birds including herons & an oyster catcher! I'll look forward to my next round here.
Excellent condition
On arrival at Peterstone Lakes you find a large car park and a practice green and net immediately next to the first Tee. These are both in excellent condition and this condition follows through the rest of the course.
They have used the space available superbly and the course winds and folds it's way around the area, providing some requirement for decision making over long, power demanding par 5s and shorter, more technical par 3s.
The course is kept excellently, veering off the slightly narrow (for me) fairways doesn't end your round as the rough is kept manageable, but trees do line each hole meaning you have decisions to make on how to recover if you find yourself not where you intended.
The greens were the highlight for me though, coming from Wiltshire where clubs suffer a lot of deer invasion it was an absolute pleasure to play on such consistent greens.
All told, when I'm next on my way by I will definitely be calling in again as I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and despite it appearing to be a busy day with lots of other people on course, I was able to nip round in 3 hours. Hopefully my play matches the standard of the course next time.
Great Place
On arrival we were met and welcomed by an extremely friendly and helpful guy in the Pro shop.
The course is great, we played in on a day that many other courses were closed due to the amount of rain we had over the previous few days. We could believe how dry under foot this course was.
I will definitely be returning, hopefully in the summer where we can enjoy it in its full splendour.
Excellent
Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our round (even though I played badly).
Members and staff friendly and welcoming.
Course is well layed out and maintained.
Challenging in places but suitable for all levels of experience and ability.
Will definitely play here again.
Won’t be returning
One of our group had his golf bag break a couple of days prior to our scheduled booking and couldn’t get a replacement in time. Didn’t want to cancel our booking so had him bring a handful of clubs and put them in one of our bags. Unfortunately someone at the course reported us for suspected club sharing.
A member of staff came and explained the issue with us on the 8th hole and requested that he carried his clubs around with him. We initially agreed as we didn’t want to cause any confrontation.
Unfortunately this scarred our round and caused an unwanted disruption to the flow of our round. We wasn’t playing slow or holding anyone up which we explained to the men ever of staff. We completed the 9th hole and then decided to head for the car park.
Great course
First time playing this course, had an amazing time and the course was in great condition especially taking into consideration the poor weather we’ve had lately. Definitely come back again
Cracking course
Lovely course, very well set out. We'll kept aswell plus club house was tidy and clean. Definitely recommend.
Quality course, well kept
Course was in excellent condition and a pleasure to play. Great value for money.
Suitable for both high and low handicap players. Would definitely recommend.
Hidden gem
Considering the dry summer weather the course was in great Nick
Good welcome at the pro shop
Great value for golfers visiting the area
Nice course
Nice course a nice layout. Might be a bit easy for a player with a low handicap. The majority of holes are straight up and down.
Nice course
Nice course a good layout lots of water as in the name. Great staff. Would play there again. A low handy cap might find it a bit easy, lots of straight fairways and forgiving.
Top course
Had a great early morning knock with 2 lads from work..before our evening shift.
Loved it #golflife
Flat and generous
Front 9 easier, good course for a big hitter, nice wide fairways , decent greens tricky par 3s . Recommend
We’ll laid out flat course in good condition despite all the dry weather with plenty of water hazards excellent greens generous slope index couldn’t quite understand why wide open fairways overall very good would recommend and would hope to play again when in the area
