Morriston golf

Played on a lovely warm day.

Course has a lot of par 3s

And is still very wet in places

But still a very enjoyable course for the price

No pro at the club and shop was closed but managed to get drinks for the round off the management which was good.

Members very welcoming would deffo play again

Thanks

Morriston golf course

Course is in transition I think with changes to the hole layout, greens to long, too many trees have fallen down and not been dealt with, bit scruffy if I’m honest. Rough to long, causing slow play looking for balls. Excellent value for money ( £13 ) on a Golf Now discount.

Horrible members

Many of the holes cross over eachother, hole 17 plays through 2 other holes. We where behind 4 members who shouted and swore at us because it was there right of way somehow. There pace of play was unbelievably slow, that the 2 groups behind us didn't even finish the 18 holes.

Slightly overpriced

Although enjoyable enough, the price for a weekday round is too much. There are better courses £10 - £15 cheaper not too far away.

I would return to play here but only on a Monday when it is cheaper

Wetter than an otters pocket that went down with the titanic

First time at the course and very welcoming and showed me exactly where to go. Unfortunately due to the location, the course was very wet (especially hole 17) in the middle of august. This being said, the course was still in good condition and was a credit to the green keepers to be able to keep it like this, I’ve seen a lot worse.

Some on the tee box signs are very faded and I did end up playing 8 rather than 3 but realised and came back no problem.

I’d recommend the course to anyone wanting a cheap round if they are nearby but don’t go here expecting a championship course. I’ll probably come back if working in the area again and hopefully have a bit more time to have a pint after as the clubhouse looked nice.

30/5

Very helpful pro shop staff as,their was a delay on the m4,rearranged my tee time.course presentation was excellent, some tee areas were quite worn.

Greens were remarkably fast, almost true linjs style and it was best playing bump runs rather than hitting full wedge or scoring clubs.

Enjoyed playing this course again, great value, will play it again.

Very enjoyable pint after the round
