Clyne -amazing views and challenging in the wind
Overlooking Swansea Bay and Mumbles - Great views over Swansea Bay and Mumbles. course yardage deceiving due to wind - 1st was 329 yard and into wind played a driver and 7 iron! some great holes - hilly for walking and loads of sheep / ponies as you play couple of holes you had to use small green mats for approach but didn’t spoil the pleasure of playing - lovely friendly clubhouse too worth the money and took loads of pictures
5 star course
Love this place. Course was superb.
Staff and other players were friendly.
Views are out of this world.
Slow play
Course was fantastic as usual but slow play mate it impossible to finish the round as we was waiting on every tee box for 10-15 minutes
Decent challenge for average golfer
Enjoyed the corse and found staff and members very friendly.
Amazing
First time playing here yesterday and I absolutely loved it!
The conditions of the course was incredible. Under foot the ground played as well as summer conditions.
Will most definitely come back
Nice views and good set up but the fences around the greens were quite difficult to step over when it’s raining as you’d sip in most cases
True golf
I love these types of courses - I’ve played Cleeve Hill, Kington, Minchinhampton and now Clyne, all ‘different’ but in my opinion what golf was like when it was discovered (just with better equipment and greens).
It’s a rural test, a course carved in the countryside with the nature that you’d expect (sheep, horses etc) with true characteristics and beautiful views, using the natural terrain to present a fair challenge.
It’s fairly open course overall, but on most holes if you’re hit it left or right you’re almost guaranteed lost.
Would recommend to all levels of golf, if you like character this is the one.
Excellent day
We played as a fourball on the Saturday, enjoyed it so much, played again the following Tuesday.
Pure greens and views for days
Great sunny Sunday round, conditions were perfect and the course was in great condition. Greens were super fast and provided a challenge. Got my first green green in under regulation from the tee box on 15. Only downside was that the bar staff didn't let us sit in the main room overlooking the 18th green after we finished, which was dissapointing...
Fantastic course
A fantastic course which has a real character to it. Considering the amount if rain that has been the course was in overall very good conditions although the tee boxes were visibly being worked on with improvements, the greens were fantastic this day in particular but played very tricky with their fast and firm nature. Highly recommend anyone experience this course as not only will you enjoy a lovely course but the views are also pretty good.
Definitely play here
Really friendly staff in the pro shop, great course layout even in very difficult weather conditions.Highly recommended
Great round considering recent weather
Played course for first time and after all the recent heavy rain course was in great condition bar a couple of holes on back 9 but that's only to be expected. Lots of blind tee shots which added a nice wrinkle although the 10th tee was tough with a tree right in front of tee. Really enjoyed and definitely will be back....can't comment on the off course amenities as had to shoot off after round👍👍
Images don’t do it justice
- hidden gem
- images don’t do it justice
- great conditions and good variety of holes
Course Marshall?
Lovely course. Good challenge especially when windy & wet. First time played here but enjoyed the terrain, fairways & greens in decent condition. Staff & other members friendly.. Only issue (as most courses seem to be now) was the slow play from 1-2 groups which had the knock on effect of us and others having a fairly long wait on almost every hole.
